What people say
A suitably placed and easily accessible hotel which we have been using for 12 years. Allows us to visit the south coast Surrey, Hampshire. and London with ease. We have always found this inn good value for money, comfortable, clean and the staff very accommodating. However it allows us to visit family in the locality.
Despite the "what I didn't like" list, the room was clean and smelt clean. The bed (mattress & pillows) were incredibly comfortable and we had a great night's sleep. That alone made it worth it.
Only the kettle being so dirty made it not so great, because for the price we could put up with the rest.all reviews »
Very comfortable bed. Everything you could possibly need for a few nights stay. Very helpful receptionist, (put my earrings in)!!. Silence. Just excellent. Will bookj again.
Very good value for a double room with en suite bathroom.

Fridge and microwave in the room saved having to eat out.
Friendly staff.
Some improvement on last visit (when a travlelodge) Got stuck in France and wasn't charged a cancelation fee. Happy staff. Clean & tidy.

Comfortable warm room, lovely clean sheets and towels. Quiet room and the staff were very friendly, helpful and polite.
Room was equipped with, microwave, mini-fridge and a pedestal fan, which was essential during the current heat wave.

Clean and heap.
everything.
room good.
Staff.
The price was very competative and the room was generally acceptable with a 40" flat screen tv. The pillows were quite good as were the towels. The hotel is a budget type sited on a service area of the A3 carriageway and there is a Starbucks cafe on site which offers a limited breakfast.
It was cheap.
There was a huge 40" tv in the room - though channel choice was limited (not all the freeview channels)
You can extend check out time from 10am until 1pm for £10.
Good value for money. Easy to reach from the main road. Basic equipment available. Don't have to pay until you get there. No restriction on how late you can arrive.
Reasonable size room.
Microwave and fridge.
Starbucks coffee and Shell deli on your door step.
Range of take away food suppliers that deliver to the hotel.
Nice to have tea and coffee making equipment in the room hotel was warm enough' good parking' and a bonus to have Starbucks for breakfast in the carpark.
No where near as bad some other reviews, serviceable and clean but a little down at heel. OK for the price.
Perfect location what I required. Service station open 24/7 for all your emergency needs.
Flatscreen TV.
Lovely big soft fluffy white towels. Clean pressed white sheets and duvet cover. New curtains.
It was great to have microwave and fridge in the room also free wifi a big bonas.

convienient to destination.

24 hour at reception.
Value for money.
Good location for our visit.
Starbucks was next door.
Unable to think of any negative points. It isn't the Ritz, but it doesn't claim to be and that is not its function.
Dirty kettle.
Plug socket too low above desk to be able to actually plug anything in!!!
Dirty sofa - it was stained and unappealing.
Mouldy ceiling in the bathroom.
Burn marks coming from behind the heater.
You need a professional, photographer. the photos made it look very depressing, and I nearly didn't book, but as the Travel Lodge was fully booked, I booked with you. I am very glad I did!.
Could not get some of the channels on the tv (BBC 1 & 2).
Arrived one hour early and charged 10 pounds. Requested a late departure and charged 10 pounds. Refrigerator too noisy to use. No Air Con. Need new mattresses this one hurt my back.
The sofa bed cover was a bit grubby (could do with a good wash!) The mattress underneath was very clean. We were very pleased overall.
The decoration is looking a bit tired.
building in need of refurbishment, fixtures and fittings tired and worn.
There was the air of tiredness about the place. Paint often badly worn, scuffed and marked and greater attention to cleanliness needed.
You give option to keep towels for a second night. Why is there no towel rail of any sort in the bathroom to hang them up to dry!.
Litter in the car park ?.
decoration looking a bit tired.
Shortage of Lavatory Paper/Room Not made up on one day during a 3 night stay.
Blackout curtains would be great in the rooms nearest the services/A3.
Slightly tatty paintwork and minor maintenance required but for the money represented good value.
Nothing.
This is an ex Travelodge and is in need of a refurbishment. The decor has become very tired, the bathrooms badly need replacing. Staff knocking on door at 10.20 amam saying check-out was at 10.00am.
Basic TV channels.
3 Staff rolling up cigarettes on reception on arrival.
the room needed a face lift bits of paint missing around the doors and a couple more sockets please.
All good!.
Large Flat Screen TV which was out of proportion for the room and used up most of the free space on the table area for eating etc.
One Room Change missed (No Bed Made/Wet Towels No Removed.
Bit basic.
Rips in carpet
Stains on walls
grubby bathroom - door, shower curtain
Very Dusty.
the plumbing is like a journey around the world, when I tried the shower I was in a steaming hot geyser in Yellowstone then the next second it was a glacial runoff in Alaska without any temperate zone inbetween.
Not enough electric sockets.
none.
no meals in walking distance.
Cleanliness.
Sadly cleaning does not seem to be a priority here, I found a clump of short black hair on the carpet as well as flakes of skin, this remained on the carpet for my 2 night stay and vacuuming must be an occassional highlight.
it's quite tired.
Would have liked to have had option to put all of us in one room instead of having to book two rooms.
Noise from garage and the road. You need to ask for the quiet end of the hotel when booking.
Hotel ran out of toilet paper, and had to buy our own.
The shower the temperature of the water was very hot or cold no way to control the temperature which was very dangerous.the hotel is in need of a update it looks very tired needs a repaint inside. The windows and seat cover's inside the rooms need a clean' and why such a big TV.
When approaching the hotel on the A3 Northbound road you cannot see the sign for the Hotel until you have actually driven past the entrance as its on a sharp left hand side bend.
additional blankets for the sofa bed in twin room not in the room.
The room wasn't as sterile as I might have hoped.
Tired room
Smelt stale.
Room not like Metro photos! Room needs updating. Carpet grubby. Sofa ripped and stained. Curtains light so woke up too early! Kettle old, lid hinge broken. Information said no food so bought own - on arrival saw there was cafe next door!.
The hot water was boiling and the cold water pressure was bad so had to be very careful when showering or wash hands not to get scolded.
lack of eating facilities on site
although the room was reasonably clean there was mould in the shower.
smelly room (smelt like a combination of smelly feet, body odour and cat wee)
Bathroom floor very dirty, did not want to put my feet on it.
Carpet smelt and dirty.
Very tired room, needs redecoration.
The bathrooms were cold and very outdated and needed a revamp.
You need to bring food and drink to eat as no onsite restaurant.
The rooms were cold on arrival.
