Lovely welcome on arrival, very friendly and the cookie was amazing!! Such a nice little touch! We was on the 10th floor and pleasantly surprised with the view of the train station and city. Decor was minimal and stylish; comfy beds and pillows. Air con worked well! Whole room/bathroom very clean. Was told on arrival we had complementary mini bar and breakfast which I wasn't aware of so that was a great little bonus! Breakfast was fab! probably the nicest ive had while staying away from home ev.
all reviews » i stayed at the double tree hilton for the easter weekend with my partner. we found this hotel to be fantastic value compared to others in the local area as well as being in a great location. everything was within a 5 mins stroll like bars, restaurants and the new trinity shopping centre. the staff were very friendly and helpful with information of the local area. parking at the hotel was very handy asare rarely found at city centre hotels. the room itself was fresh, modern, and very clean with. Good location. Staff friendly and professional. There is on-site parking although I used the valet service which was very efficient. The rooms are contemporary and comfortable. The in-room iMac TV and computer is a nice touch, as is the fridge and bottled water. Check out the Sky Lounge on the top floor. A cool bar with panoramic views and staff who know how to make cocktails. The buffet breakfast was lovely. Hot food regularly replaced and great choice. Wouldn't stay anywhere else. For some reason, although I had searched for bed and breakfast accommodation for 1 adult and 1 child, the reservation detailed only 1 person. Therefore the hotel were going to charge me a further £10 so that my son could have breakfast. Fortunately I had detailed on the additional information section that there was an adult and child, so they waived this fee, but letsbookhotel.com may need to put this right. The warmth, friendliness, and genuinely fantastic standard of care given to every patron of said establishment. The facilities of the room were excellent, little things like an iron and ironing board, were also available, perfect as I reironed my packed clothes. Free wifi throughout was fantastic, the standard of the food, unquestionable, the genuine attitude of the staff, nothing was too much trouble. Great location, car parking underneath the arches very secure and friendly staff to greet you. Hotel reception staff extremely freindly and hard working. The hotel is situated on the waters on Granary Wharf. It onky takes around 3-5 minutes to walk into thecity centre and is within eye shot of the train station. We started our night in the Sky Lounge which is a buzzing bar on the 13th floor and enjoyed a drink while the sun set over Leeds, worth a visit just for that!. I paid for my daughter and son-in-law to stay here for his 30th birthday. They have just had my gorg grandson, therefore first time away. They went on the train so did not want to walk far, this was ideal. They loved the sky lounge. It's my daughters birthday next month and I will be paying for her to go back here. From the moment we arrived to the time we departed the staff could not have looked after us better. One instance of note was when I asked in reception for more milk sachets for our room and the male employee at the information desk went and got me a small jug of fresh milk which I thought was excellent service. Views over looking the canal, and facilities in the room were good, an Apple Mac serving as a t.v allowed us to use Netflix for movies. Our room was on the 6th floor right next to the elevator and we didn't hear people or the elevator. Thus I assume the rooms are sound proofed. We had an excellent stay. The twin room that my daughter and I shared was spacious, clean & overlooked the canal. The location was excellent for the town & railway station. Staff were friendly & efficient. The food was good in the restaurant. If I ever have to go to Leeds again I would certainly stay in this hotel. The staff were very polite and friendly. We were made welcome from the moment we arrived and until we left. The breakfast was very well presented and tasty with a lot of variety even though we arrived towards the end of the sitting. The facilities were what you would expect but dont always get. The location is great and the 13th floor skylounge us not too be missed. We liked the room lay out and design. Well placed electrical points and mirror near window light with seat for making up. The computer facility was useful for keeping up with emails. I booked all three rooms for our party and the hotel made a small error meaning two of the rooms were paid in advance but not my room, hiw ever they were quick to help. Had a bit of a trauma when I rang to check the booking, they didnt have any booking under my name or my daughters. I was passed around the houses abit and eneded back with the same chinese man. He eventually found it under my first name lol Phew. Leaving at the end of our stay and not knowing when we were to return. Nothing. All good!. I got charged £4 to have my food on a tray... But I gess that's what comes with staying in a nice hotel ?. The lifts were slow. Having had an accident in a shower (of a Holiday Inn) because of the lack of a shower mat I am particularly conscious of that particular risk. Grab rails are a good idea too but perhaps OTT. Parking arrangements - don't see why I should pay for parking when I am already paying to stay there. Cookies (sorry I'm wheat intolerant) so felt a little left out :-(. The parking is very confusing. When booking you are told you can't reserve a parking space, however when you arrive you are informed al the spaces are reserved. The concierge on duty when we arrived was condescending and rude. Gym. I am a regular gym user. And although it was safe and clean and modern. I found there was limited option. Most people would probably see it as a great gym. It just wasnt to my training style. nothing. nothing to dislike. We went to go for a drink in the Sky Lounge on the Saturday night,but it was far too noisy for us, and the Granary Bar was closed at midnight. Nothing!. Sky bar a bit pretentious and like most hotels did not provide sufficient staff for bar areas, especially when the Grand National on and place awash with Hen/Wedding parties etc. Therefore also noisy at night as the revellers return but don't consider that the hotels fault. there wasnt anything we didnt like. Everything was good. Maybe an earlier check in would be nice. testing fire alarm mid morning, i`m a night person and it wakes me up with quite shock! It happened 1 day of 6 I have to add. Nothing not to like. Prices in the Sky bar rather expensive. nothing xx. wifi was patchy, availability of wifi was a reason we booked this hotel as Hilton usually do a good job. So this was disappointing. The street signposts were not showing this hotel name but were showing 'The Mint Hotel' which we now understand to be the old name. Parking round the corner beyond the bridge due to closer car parks being full was a pain. Feather pillows (this was sorted) Room price didn't include breakfast £16.95 far to pricey. Room was small to say it was a queen executive room no conditioner to accompany shampoo. Cannot complain about anything. The fact that it was Hallowene meant the public areas were very noisy, not really a problem. N/A. Not enough coffee sachets in room - only decaff - very minor issue!. THought the actual shower would have been bigger whan it said "walk in" i had imagined like a wet room. Although it was 5pm our room wasn't ready to check in.. However we were given a free drink voucher and asked to wait in the bar.. We only had about a 20 minute wait. N/A.
