  We had a great stay at the Duke of Cornwall. The rooms were lovely. We had a seperate toilet but that didn't cause any problems. After my mum became ill and had to go to hospital Debbie and Karen couldn't have been more helpful. The breakfast was good. We weren't so keen on the location but it was great to get to the Eden Project and Lost Gardens ... what people say » of Heligan. The 'beer garden' was absolutely gorgeous. Debbie and Karen are keen gardeners and have created a beautiful space outside to sit and enjoy - Enjoyed the friendly relaxed staff & local character customers who add to the authentic feel of this well organised business. Both the tenants share the cooking two very charming ladies, who are eager and have a large menu choice. Use of local ingredient's such as Beef that is hung before use , great flavour. Large portions. Room was clean and great value good quality bed linen and a mattress for the price it was value for money. Well kept garden area.

  When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere of the pubs and the beauty of the village. The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful during our entire stay. The room was very well done and comfortable.   We loved the Porthpean Apartments as it was exactly what we look for when travelling. Spacious and comfortable with excellent facilities with everything you could possibly want provided. We were also provided with scones, jam and clotted cream on arrival. The location was great; only 5 minutes from the Eden Project. Other places of interest close ... what people say » by that we visited were Port Isaac, St Michael's Mount, St Mawes Castle, Pendennis Castle, Jamaica Inn, Looe Village and many other historic landmarks - This light and airy apartment was really clean and comfortable. There was a sense of generosity and being cared for; the complimentary toiletries, plenty of soft towels and a cream tea to welcome us. We arrived hours before the check in time but having access to the apartment early was no problem. It all felt very relaxed and easy.

Our room was missed for servicing the second day. Receptionist couldn't have been more apologetic and dealt with it straight away, even though she was busy dealing with new arrivals, and working alone. We would recommend this hotel to others and would definately return if visiting Cornwall again. Well Done! St Austell Premier Inn.
