  The way the staff responds to the needs of their guests. They are sooo friendly and eager to find the answers to any questions a guest may have even if it may be unusual. American guests may not understand what all the words on the menu may mean, and the waiter/waitress is so eager to explain. Our room was nicely furnished with comfortable bed and interesting photographs and prints. Staff were very friendly. Located in a rural / commuter village with countryside around, and yet minutes to Blackburn or Preston and the M6. It is the village my grandfather was brought up in too which is a plus for me.

The staff were first class, but obviously work long hours and have to multi-task (I saw the duty manager(?) serving breakfast in the morning then behind the bar late at night).   The hotel was being taken over by new management but they did their best to accomodate us. They allowed us to check in early as we had a wedding to get to. The hotel was clean and tidy and had everything we needed. Breakfast the next day was just what we needed. Would definitely book again if was in the area. - Friendly staff; proximity to Blackb... what people say » urn and Preston; on a main bus route to both towns; nice pub with good food. Purpose of my visit was to visit with family and friends in the area. I would not recommend Blackburn as a place for a holiday.
