  We were in Birmingham for the Festival of Quilts at the NEC. We loved stayingin your hotel as it was so convenient for the city and lovely places to eat in the evenings.   The rooms were large and of a high standard. The view of the canal and Mailbox complex was superb. The staff were outstanding - posting me on my cashmere scarf I had left in reception when I checked out!   Room was immaculate, obviously new build and sparkling. Bed was huge and there was still plenty of room to move about. Shower was nice, clean and well functioning. Breakfast provided catered to all tastes and was fantastic. Evening menu was also good. Late bar meant no need to go out the hotel and get cold while still being able to be comfortable ... what people say » and social with colleagues. Also bar prices weren't as expensive as I thought they would be. - It was so nice to be back at this wonderful hotel. I finally stayed in a room similar to the first time I stayed here. I've stayed many times, the design is quirky which aids the soundproofing. I've recently stayed in other local holiday inn express's and being back here was a dream! Instantly felt comfortable. The staff were much more pleasant too and even held a door open for me as I was carrying a lot of items for work.

The staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. The food was excellent, both the evening meal, which was freshly prepared and cooked, and the breakfast which was plentiful and wholesome. The hotel has been sympathetically restored, its a beautiful grade 2 listed building, which has been transformed into a modern bright and welcoming hotel.

  Fitness/gym facilities and pool. All staff very friendly and helpful - It was good to find a hotel with a decent size sauna, swimming pool, steam room and a jacquzzi, all of which worked and were clean. The changing room were very very good for this type of hotel

  The space and comfort was excellent. The quiet environment was pleasing considering you were close to the centre of Birmingham. It was close enough to lots of local ammenities, bars and restaurants, yet far enough away not to be bothered by them.   I had to visit Birmingham recently and booked Gables Nest at very short notice. The price was excellent, the room was spotless, the breakfast was top notch, easy access to the city and most of all, the welcome from the owner, Mal was so friendly. I would definitely use Gables Nest again and recommend it to friends.   Absolutely fantastic accomadation, loads of room in our two bedroom apartment no.58 we were both extremely happy with the friendly staff and the cleanliness of the accomadation. Would highly recommend and have already told all my friends about it and will be returning to stay city apartment in the future ideal location for shopping in the bullring ... what people say » and also for train station to go to Drayton manor park.   We stayed there 5 years ago and decided to stay again as it was such a convenient and friendly venue. We went out for a celebration dinner on Friday evening and I happened to mention that it was our 53rd wedding anniversary. When we returned around 11:15pm, the was an envelope on the bed with a card wishing us a Happy Anniversary from all the staf... what people say » f at Canal Side. We were amazed and absolutely delighted. We've travelled all over the world and wouldn't have expected that kindness even from a 5 st - My mum and i stayed at this Premier inn as we were going to see Bon Jovi at Aston Villa FC, we really liked seeing the banners of Bon Jovi on arrival. The receptionist was very helpful and booked a taxi to the venue. I have to say i would stay with them again and all the people in Birmingham were very pleasant and helpful.

  Check in is electronic, and the staff not only helped us do the computer work, but also allowed us to drop our bags early, and tagged them so they couldn't be taken by anyone but us. Breakfast was free for our kids since we had paid for ours. It was fresh and appetizing, constantly refreshed by the kitchen. The room was smaller with a Queen, a twin and a twin cot set up, but it was close to everything and had all modern ameniti - This hotel is right in the centre of Birmingham so location is great. The staff were very helpful with giving tips for best overnight parking. Check in was very easy and quick. The room was a decent size and very clean, a typical Premier Inn room. The bed was very comfortable (firm, which we like) and we had a peaceful nights sleep, in fact we didn't hear anything at all. Shower was really hot and powerful. Definitely stay again.
