Bedrooms and public areas obviously refurbished recently in a very contemporary style .Bar area and restaurant to a very high standard for such a reasonable price.Food excellent and good value for money.Extensive choice at breakfast traditional cooked etc ,and pancakes which were yummy !Room very clean and comfortable piping hot water and good shower in a very modern bathroom.Staff very friendly .

The food was excellent, both the evening meal, which was freshly prepared and cooked, and the breakfast which was plentiful and wholesome. The hotel has been sympathetically restored, its a beautiful grade 2 listed building, which has been transformed into a modern bright and welcoming hotel.Pleasant, obliging staff who dealt with any enquiry promptly and efficiently. Lovely 'feel' about the place, very welcoming and comfortable and surprisingly quiet being on such a busy road. Breakfast was very good on each of the three mornings, marvellous value!. The staff were extremely helpful and polite. The breakfast service was very prompt, we didn't have to wait. The room was cleaned for us each day we stayed. The bed was very comfortable and all amenities were there.Good location for my requirements. Plenty of parking space. Good simple food available up til 10.00pm, just what I needed after the journey to B'ham. everything was more than adequate for our 1 night stay and we would happily re-visit, the staff were very friendly and helpful.Friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms, good food and good location. Otehr guests made a lot of noise in the courtyard till late at night forboth nights we stayed there. Only negative thing but quite a big thingas we both got very disturbed and very little sleep.need a smoking area away from rooms,we was near a door and people came out to have a cigarette,smoking areas should be away from buliding. offered first of all a room facing a very busy road.The window will not stay open from the bottom and will not open from the top. the fact that its not known more .it was only found by chance because we couldnt get into any of the big chains.this will now be our first port of call in the future. Rooms a bit small but very clean and beds comfortable. During the night the heating came on and was very noisy.phone service was down in rooms. Nothing to Dislike. i couldnt shut my window [a sash window] so had to ask for help to close it. maybe you could do 2 bacon and 2 sausage with the breakfast. nope. The room was uncomfortably too warm at night.It would be nice if smoking was not entertained anywhere on thepremises...i can't help but feel that it lowers the tone of the hotel.Bearing in mind that people who smoke tend to carry the smell ofcigarettes smoke with them. The radiator in my room would not turn down so it was too hot and the website says it is 5 minutes from central Birmingham which I assumed meant on foot but it actually meant by car. Throughout the night there was a lot of noise from guests who were attending a christmas function downstairs but this is not the fault of the hotel.The exterior needs some help...doesn't look reay well taken care of from the outside for as nice of place as it is inside. Hot water was slow and jet tub not realy well cleaned so we didn't even use it.
