The rooms at Tophane Aparts, are excellent and definitely above other hotels in the same price range. The staff were very accomodating, allowing us to check in early after a long flight from SA. Don't be put off by the buildings in the area, the hotel was the best we stayed in, throughout our trip to Turkey. Great concept -- i.e. flats in Istanbul. Excellent alternative to staying in a hotel for those who don't need to be pampered. Local neighborhood, great price and location in Tophane is perfect for 3-4 nights in Istanbul.
