When you don't take the cheapest room, perfect at all. Clean, nice and it's perfect to stay. I liked to hear all the long good music everywhere. Dj play at the pool, but you here it even on the beach, at the balcony and a bit in the room. But it's a party hotel. So it's fine. Place when you wanna stay with young people and have fun. And you can walk to everywhere very quick. Perfect. Good location, right on the beach. Friendly atmosphere, good party vibe. Nice beach, great facilities, good food at restaurant. Room and resort very clean, nice surroundings. Further shops, bar restaurants within walking distance. Laundry service available if needed and onsite travel agent, handy for booking transport back to bangkok or other destinations.

Great hotel for young people and travellers and groups of friends as this hotel is where all the beach parties happen in Chaweng and if you are staying in the hotel you get free entry. Free wifi in rooms which is always a good thing. if you are looking to party in the Hub of Koh Samui, look no further. Ark Bar hosted the most popular beach and pool parties in the area, so it was a luxury staying here. Our rooms were far enough we couldnt hear the noise but close enough to stumble back bare feet. Had a blast!. The room was very clean and the locations of the hotel is amazing. It is the only happening spot in Koh Samui where you can party and enjoy drinks/Shisha. The staff is friendly and the pools are really good. I will strongly recommend a DELUXE room as all rooms are the same size. Great music and a great beach party, its perfect for groups of friends who want good value for money but dont want to stay in a cheap backpacker hostel. The rooms are clean and cool, and you get a 24 hour reception in case anything goes wrong. I really had a great time here. The location was very close to the main nightlife spots and the Ark Bar itself was a hotspot with its beach parties. Rooms (deluxe room) were clean and well maintained. The restaurant staff were very friendly and welcoming. Good for families as well as groups of friends. Our room (1121) was further away from the music that goes late at night, so when we wanted to sleep it wasn't a struggle. There were three different pools to choose from so we could always find somewhere to lounge and relax. Everything. The place, location, atmosphere and staff were amazing in every way possible. Definitely the place to stay at in Koh Samui. My next stay will be returning to ArkBar Beach Resort because I just love it so much. The room has been remodeled and is very nice. The location is very close to airport, 'on' the beach with own beds and service on that beach. The food is good, good Thai food and also Western (Mostly Aussie). MUST STAY THERE! best place ever, perfect location.. just close to everything.. their pool and beach party everynight its awesome and all night life and restaurants are just across the road. Def coming back. Friendly staff, spacious room (superior deluxe) but dark furniture looks outdated. Excellent location in the hart of Chaweng Beach. Perfect place for trendy people who love the nightlife. The hotel is very nice located in Chaweng beach, you don't need to rent a motorbike or car, you can easily walk from hotel. the pool and the restaurant is very nice and the room clean. Perfect location for airport and ferry access to other islands. Loved the DJ and general buzz from 2pm everyday.... Food Good Loads of staff, and cleaners keeping the beach clean... I liked the beach party they had Friday night. I also liked the room it was clean and comfortable. They also had a cool excursion that I was able to plan for at the hotel. I like the happy and sexy atmosphere and always good music! I suggest to sell the CD's and have the one that's playing on display, so people can see it and take it home!. Resort is being extended so some construction work in progress but it did not cause any problems to our stay, nor did it wake us up. Resort is on a flight path so you get a few planes going overhead during the day but it was not a problem. Drinks and food in the hotel were quite expensive compared to rest of places in Chaweng. Everything is good about this hotel. the food was ok but it could be improved. When checking out, they would try and put extras for items such as missing towels or usage at the bar, when they were either not used or not there in the first place, so best to do a full rec when checking in! minor point, but could spoil the experience. We booked a queen bed room but got two single beds pushed together. I was trying to speak to a disinterested receptionist and she continued to answer the phone while I was speaking. I wished there was a sauna but that's nothing compared to what ArkBar already have. Will stay at ArkBar again regardless. Bathroom is very 'simple', old, no socket for tooth brush or shaver. Buildings are stand so close to each other, that all the view you have is from your neighbor's dirty feet on his balcony. nothing really, was the best hotel! couldnt find anything bad there. Many groups of Arab people who sit outside on the terrace of their room at night drinking and shouting. Why can't they buy their beer and whiskey at the many bars and stay there romaine noise. Cheap Charlie's ?. The hotel is essentially a party hotel, not suitable for relax or family. The reception is understaffed and they take long to attend a customer. I think they should have been able to help book transportation to airports buses or trains. They also should have a breakfast buffet. I did not like to leave!:(. The reception do not bother to mention that a whole wing is still a construction site and the first room that we've got was really near to it - We have suffered a terrible noises early in the morning. SUPER, super loud at night. One of the worst night's sleep I have had in a long time. Reception staff seemed confused on check in. Problems with aircon that took too long for staff to resolve. Restaurant prices were a little high. -Ongoing construction was really disturbing, I had to upgrade my room to "Premier Deluxe Room" to be away from the noise. -No matter what room you get you will still hear the airplanes as the hotel is located on the runway approach path. -My credit card was authorized without any notification. Nothing really. was disappointed with the standard of the room...we booked superior and were in the superior wing, however the bathroom wasn't great, and had to hold the shower head! The room shouldn't be advertised as a "superior" room as we met people who were in standard rooms and they were better! Plus the noise from the building site was pretty bad early in the morning!. The price of food and drinks are quite expensive but your better off looking for some thai street food. Beds to hard, little bit noisy aircondition, and do not live to close the DJ place with loud music :). Few Mosquitos which is part of the nature. Check-out at 11am. 1 pm would be much better. Little noisy but nothing major and everyone is here to party. The music is too loud & goes on every day until 2am! You have to make sure your room is far away from the music. The pillows are cheap thick foam & unusable. Need to bring your own pillow. What i don't like is maybe when there is no party. Its actually pretty hard to meet other travellers as there is pounding music each day from 2pm, people tend to stick to their own table on the beach. People trying to sell you things on the beach is a constant annoyance and the area itself its very touristy. Relatively expensive by Thai standards. Staff weren't the most friendly or helpful. The food was not very good. The Rooms were very small and strictness about smoking in the room. The old part of the hotel has different rooms, make sure you book in the new section... Our first room was awful. It looked dirty and there were holes in the bathroom door. The air conditioner took ages to do anything and it was boiling hot! It didn't seem fit to live in so we had to upgrade our room. If you want silence, bad choice. You should know that there is always music and during my stay there was construction work going on and I didn't get any discount. Its hard to sleep before 2 am as the dj is on,. building work going on and planes flying low to land over hotel meant it was quite noisy, also the boom, boom beat of the poolside disco got on your nerves after a few days. Wifi didn't work in room sometimes but other than that no complaints. Dj at pool was not great - drinks and food on site were a rip off - check out is at 11. Bit noisey if your not partying.
