On check in we asked for our 2 x two bedroom apartments to be close to each other as we were two families travelling together. Within minutes the staff had upgraded us to a four bedroom villa with private pool so that we could stay together. The standard of accommodation was excellent. The resort is very large, but it only takes a phone call to reception to arrange transport to the main restaurant for breakfast and then they will take you back to your property afterwards. all reviews » The resort was very pleasant, we stayed at a three bedroom villa with a private pool, which was cosy and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was varied with an acceptable selection. There were two other pools at the property which the kids enjoyed besides the pool in the villa. The place is very quiet and relaxing if you are looking for something away from the hustle and bustle of Patong Beach. Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay and we would definitely stay there. The poolside villa was fantastic and it was great to come home and relax in the comfort of our own pool after a day of exciting activities. The staff was exceptional and very friendly! We have recommended this facility to our friends and family as well. While you need to take a taxi to get places, it's not a problem at all. From the point of arrival until depature, we received excellent service. The staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay at the resort and wished we had stayed for longer. We recommend this resort to anyone, especially families. One of the guests celebrated a birthday and the hotel staff made this a memorable day. The family bbq dinner at the rooftop poolside was a very special treat. The Outrigger was a great resort. The staff was outstanding, brunch was very good. Excellent suites with an incredible space. Very comfortable and providing very good facilities. The villa provides most of the things my family need, like washing machine, well equipped kitchen and shuttle bus to beach and restaurant. The environment is good. Nothing more than the photos on the web site. The resort is rather far from shops and amenities, and is a 30 minute drive from Patong. The restaurants on premises close at 10pm so if you miss the last order, finding food late at night is a problem. The staff at the resort were very helpful in providing a shuttle to the nearest mini supermarket for anything we needed. The food is little pricey and we weren't too impressed with the dine in food. Food and drinks are a bit pricy. That we could not use the pool at the Outrigger on the beach without having to pay the equivalent of $50 AUD. there was no one there as it was overcast. The driver of the resort van that took us to the beach suggested we should go there and said that we did not have to pay. However we were told otherwise when we arrived. Felt a little remote. Although the restaurants were excellent we felt a little cut off and would have liked to have sampled some Thai food from outside the complex. strong stench coming from two of the three bathrooms in the villa; couldn't get late check-out, shuttle was delayed for half an hour on one particular instance, poor location - costs 700BHT to get to Patong and takes more than half an hour; some shuttles didn't go directly to Outrigger villas - had to interchange at Canal Village. Bit far from good restaurants in Patong!. We went to visit the sister Outrigger hotel located on the beach and were very disappointed to find we were charged a day fee to enough their resort...... This is not the norm. Marriott has multiple resorts on Phuket that you can enjoy sister locations for free. Outrigger really needs to review their policy on this!. The beach is a bit far from the hotel and although the hotel provides free transportation to the beach and to the other facilities at the resort, it is not as if you had everything at hand. Anyway, if you wish to relax, that's the perfect place!. Food within the resort is slightly over-priced given you get get for about half that in local places / on the beach. Quality was just average. the location.....it's part of a group of hotels but to get to the other resorts you always needed transport (including to the hotel beach). this transportation was free but it always took time!! the guided tours from the hotel were also quite expensive. you really had no other option - especially if you are traveling with children/infants. near the other hotels were local taxi stands - but here - NON. The transport limousine fee is quite expensive... A bit far from the beach and supermarket. We did not realise that the property is outside the Laguna. Food and beverages in resort expensive as there is an extra 17% on the listed price (service and gov tax) and food is quite average. Access to shops and local restaurants difficult without a car. Isolated - needs better links to outside the Laguna complex. Expensive. Too early to check out, and the swimming pool is too small. People there were not providing quality service, we only asked for more towel but the answer from them was have to pay for extra. I never heard about asking for more towel which have to pay. And their service attitude also were poor. The website was promising a butler service which wasn t available ; the room was huge but with a sense of deep emptyness, faded and definitly not worse the cost ; I won t go there again. Location wise, far from the beach, in conclusion no reason to select such place for such a price, disapointing!. The hotel is very far from the city, 40 minutes, also the staff horrible, the villas full of lizards , the kids start crying from the minute we enter till we decide to change the hotel in couple hours, and the staff did not show even efforts to remove the lizard saying that its not dangerious while its 15 cm as well as the transport from lobby to villas are very poor , estimated 30 minutes response time . i felt very bad that i booked in this hotel.
