The location is stunning. and the trip to and from the resort is a highlight. We stayed in one of the bungalows and found it a little noisy at night with generator going from 6-6am. you have to get out during the day to miss the hoards of tourist boats that converge on the bay to dive and play making the place a little unpleasant. however this give you an excuse to get to see the rest of the island which is fantastic.
all reviews » Wonderful staff. Free 20 minute boat trip to main village, twice daily. The prices for dinner in the restaurant were very reasonable (considering the resort is isolated), the food good and stunning views. The bay and beach is beautiful- clear water and deep- perfect for snorkelling and diving. It is a wonderfull hotel in a wonderfull position. The food is vero food and the rooms are pretty clean and confortable. The staff is always nice and ready to help you. 1 The beach is very beautiful 2 Sea is clear and beautiful, there are many fishes and carol 3 Not too many people 4 Can borrow life jacket freely 5 Room near the beach. Amazing view Quiet and relaxing great staff and Owner. Early morning swim-had the bat to myself. Free boat transport 2 Times per day. Secluded, low key, pretty decent snorkeling. Elevated restaurant over the cliff top is nice. Free snorkel and flipper rental. The manager.. The wildlife-- The Location between 4 pm and 10 am. The location is world class and should be regulated so that the litter left by uncaring tourists, dive boats and long tail boats is removed or not taken there. It is sole destroying to see such an amazing place littered with plastic bags cigarette buts and other garbage. This place will be lost if this practice is not fixed. No sound proofing in the rooms of the main building, which needs a bit of a renovation in my opinion. Would stay in the isolated bungalows further up the hillside next time, they looked really nice. The position is wonderfull but vero far from all the staff and the shops of the island. 06PM to 06AM there are electrical. Other time you can't use hot water to bath. State of the coral, so depressing. Contempt for the beach shown by the multitude of day trippers. The company of snorkeling And diving who are coming on the beach :( too much But earlier on the morning And on the afternoon (17h) alone So goooooddddd. Inaccessibility to main part of the island. Hotel boat only makes two trips back to the main pier each day. Water taxi upwards of 300 baht per person. Electricity only works from 6pm to 6am. The barrage of loud boats..from 10 am til 4 pm Hundreds of people on a tiny beach or snorkeling , so many speed boats and intolerable noise. Please note that the electricity is only available between 18:00-06:00 hrs. === Please note that Ao Muong Resort provides a complimentary boat transfer between the pier and the property as follows: Resort to Koh Tao Pier (Mae Haad): 08:15 and 13:15 hrs Koh Tao Pier (Mae Haad) to the resort: 11:15 and 16:15 hrs Guests are requested to check-in at least 30 minutes before the boat departure time. A staff representative will be waiting for guests at the pier with the hotel sign. If guests are unable to find the staff, please kindly contact the local guide at the Lomprayah office. Nang Yuan Island is located in between the resort and Koh Tao Pier. Guests wishing to be dropped off at this island must inform the staff in advanced. Please note that free transfer service is dependent on weather conditions and this may affect departure and arrival times.
