Hotel Dischma is a very nice, reasonably priced base for exploring Lugano. An excellent, very extensive breakfast is included in the price. The breakfast staff are very friendly and attentive and explain all the choices The location is great, even though it isn't in the centre of Lugano. A 5 minute ride from the train station on the #2 bus drops you a short block from the hotel. It's about a 15 minute walk along the lake to the centre of Lugano, or a short ride on the #1 bus. From food choices, quality and variety, these staff planned and worked with their hearts. They made us want to go back and stay at Dischma next time. This is a modern hotel with spacious and comfortable rooms in the pleasant district of Paradiso. It's close to shops, restaurants, and the lake shore. We got to the hotel from the main station by taking the number 2 bus to Paradiso from right outside the station. You need an Area 100 ticket costing Chf 2,30 from the machine at the bus stop. The distance is about 2 km and you get off at Via Geretta which is also the last stop. O staff e extremamente cortes. E um hotel familiar e muito aconchegante. They surprised us with a bottle of Proseco because of our wedding day celebration. It was really nice and kind. The breakfast is wonderful. It is a familiar and confortable hotel. Could quite clearly hear the neighbors and their kids. No cons except Price expensive but Lugano Switzerland is expensive. Nothing really, it was ideal for our needs. no bar of soap, no washcloths. Not spacious single room at he sixth floor but with the wide double bed. There was nothing to dislike. Difficult to find even using GPS. Nothing. Nothing much except toilet is a little old for the family room. The address was given as Lugano which made it hard to find as we couldn't get the address into the gps. Their correct address, which does go into the gps, is Paradisio. The correct address will help future travellers using a gps. The walls are quite thin, and we happened to have a very lively family next door. Hotel is some distance from main railway station.The bath in our room was too small and lacked a proper shower. The only thing was the cold bathroom water that we called reception and they fixed it in one hour and at nights there were some noises maybe because the walls were not insulated well. Nothing. We have gotten a very nice room, but the air conditioner did make a lot of noice just above our heads during a sleep- it waked us up many times. Our breakfast was not in the restaurant room but in the bar/lobby. The bed and the pillows given weren't very comfortable. Aside from that, all was more than satisfactory. No cheese for breakfast !. Not so easy to locate the hotell, located off the mainstreet.
