What people say
Fanastically helpful, welcoming staff. Lovely tiled entrance / reception. Very comfy, spacious beds and a sitting room - more than we needed for such a short stay. Outstanding value for money. Disagree with someone's comment about the breakfast - there was ample choice and lots of it. We had a fabulous weekend and look forward to returning. It was equal to a fine BandB, which I prefer. The staff was outstanding and very professional in looks and actions. The breakfast was beyond my expectations in choice and time of presenting. It was quiet and interesting as an old world builing. The pool was an added peasure.all reviews »
the rooms were large and comfortable. The location, though a little out of the center of town, is a great neighborhood and easily walkable to where ever one wants to go. The staff is fantastic; the hotel is beautiful very tipical... very relaxing for a pleasent short break. The swimming pool is fantastic also the small garden is great!. Swimming pool in summer to cool off is a must. beautiful hotel, good area. the location - very authentic, had a nice local feel about it; in a very quiet area; our room was very spacious, clean and comfortable; beds were very comfortable with really good mattresses. breakfeast was very good - lovely fresh breads, fruit and very nice tasy hot food too. patio area was very nice and peaceful; staff were very courteous and helpful. The hotel is very clean and well kept. The reception staff spoke English and were really helpful. The aircon system in my room was really good. The breakfast included in the price was great - loads of choice and available until 11am so I got a lie-in. I got a decent deal seeing as I booked on the day I needed the hotel - probably could have got cheaper if I'd booked in advance, but still happy with the deal I got.The welcome drink was a nice start, especially after the heat! The rooftop pool was lovely and peaceful, my room was really lovely and the reception staff were very helpful. helpful staff, lovely surroundings, amenities. location is great; staff very accomodating;. The hotel was charming with lots of character and a nice courtyard. Staff really nice and helpful. Some lively bars within walking distance, but few restaurants to have a nice meal. Staff were helpful taking our car to a nearby garage and bringing it back to the hotel for us. An excellent buffet breakfast was including in our room price.Hotel located within histoic city walls about 25 minute walk from the main historic centre and shopping centre. Very enjoyable stay, but food within the hotel seemed quite expensive. The hotel was gorgeous, well located and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Having the pool on the roof made for a lovely place to relax in the late afternoon. The interesting layout and architecture of the hotel. Nice ambiance at hotel - unique and felt more like a small boutique hotel. I liked everything about the hotel except the breakfast which was a bit minimal and I did not like the machine made coffee. The rooms are big, I guess we were lucky with the position of ours, the patio great, and the swimming pool fantastic. Breakfast buffet in the courtyard was great. The location and ambience. Although a little way from the Cathedral and Alzar, the San Gil is in a lovely old part of the City, the "real" Seville, and the various routes to the City Centre through the maze of streets make pleasant walks. The best feature of the Hotel is the large shady courtyard onto which all the rooms face, lovely in the heat of the day!. Brilliant people, friendly, stunning allot of energy at reception. The atmosfhere of the hotel, of the town. Location and ambience. The look and location of the hotel provides an experience for itself. The area is quiet at night and from the rooftop pool, you get a good view of the city. Also the free breakfast has several choices and is well stocked.hotel v comfortable and the staff were helpful. good attention to detail. I liked the room, the view in the beautiful courtyard, the staff, the environement, the breakfast.Room facing lovely interior courtyard alive with chirping birds and gurgling fountain. The pool, the view, the private balcony, the location in the real sevilla. Peaceful, comfortable, friendly staff, good swimming pool. room and decor/ surroundings, swimmimng pool.Staff, the room and the location were all very good. Will be happy to go back again. A good balance betwenn the size of the hotel/guests, the facilities and tranquillity!. We liked the internal courtyard although disappointed that the fountain was never in use during our stay. The room was well cleaned each day.The breakfast buffet was excellent, the staff were friendly and helpful and the room service was good. breakfasts were good. Location. Nothing...you should take this hotel out of your system. Slightly awkward for getting to the centre of town - although we were lazy and kept jumping into cabs which mounted up due to no direct routes because of the one way system! Local area is good anyway though. Hotel was a bit noisy early in the morning - maybe this was a one off and we were unlucky?. the beds are a bit hard. I would improve the breakfast a little bit providing a better food selection,. We underestimated the walking distance to the places of interest. the shower/bath glass screen did not fit tightly to the bath thus everytime we had a shower the floor near the bath/shower and toilet area got very wet. However we did not complain as we were overall very happy with the hotel. I had a ground floor room, so there was a lot of noise outside my room. The 4th floor pool was freezing! (Not really a complaint though, because most hotels don't have a pool.). the food in the restauruant was terrible. the charge of 60 euros for New Years' dinner was outrageous given the poor quality of the food. split conditionner was not heating as much as we would have appreciated due to the rain and cold weather at this time of the year .Access to drive your car to the hotel was difficult, very narrow streets and difficult to park nearby in the street, so it´s necessary to use the private garage at a cost of 15 euros per night. Located in a lively area, but it is a bit too far to walk to the centre where the cathedral is etc. Not too much of a problem, as a taxi costs around 6 euros to the centre of town. The bed was not a double but two singles which was not mentioned anywhere in the booking.Very dIfficult to find, and didn't really resemble picture of front of hotel on website. Some of th estaff was great , feaw were quite unfriendly. There were alot of mirrors in the room!. Shame the pool was closed in the last week of April when the temperature soared to 30 degrees-plus!. Breakfast starts to late at 7:30 am, and the staff at the breakfast venue especially the manager can present a much more friendlier attitude. Is not very easy to find the hotel by car. Road access difficult. It is far away from most of the main sites in Sevilla, so a taxi or the bus is a must. Also very few dining choices around the area. The bathroom needed decorating and the hydro spa bath did not work. we booked for a flamenco show in the hotel instead of going to town , eat an expensive meal there and the show was cancelled. very dissapointing.I did not like the smell in the room and the noise of the air-conditioning. Poor room service: We weren't always given the correct number of towels.tourists who ate tapas with a knife and fork. The breakfast was good but its organisation was slightly haphazard. Charming though.breakfast and dinner were rather limited and mediocre. The breakfast buffet could use more variety and choice!. The bathroom whilst perfectly good made the room have a damp, musty smell which must have been due to inadequate ventilation. We had booked for dinner one evening but the staff had somehow overlooked the booking. There was no apology but a table was found. The staff were slow and the menu seemed uninviting so we eventually decided to eat elsewhere that night. Constant noise from 8a.m. till 5p.m. due to rennovations next to my room. Quite fra from the historic center (25 minutes fast walking). Having such a large window giving directly on to the courtyard made us feel on display despite the mirrored glass - so we had to keep the curtains closed during the whole of our stay. The flamenco display was rather noisy and not to our taste. it did not have as much character as we were led to believe from the photos and description - expected it to be older and moorish in style - the actuality was that only the front was in this style - the rest was modern and characterless. Breakfast very bad: Bad coffee, no fresh fruit. Reception personnel very nice, but otherwise the service was not good enough for a 4-star hotel (in bar and restaurant). Wireless Internet connection not working properly, even if that is promised in the hotel description on the website. We could not sleep the whole night. The room was facing the corridor with top to bottom windows so you could hear everything outside. Definitely not a 4-star hotel. How can you rate a one star hotel for 4 star??? I walked out soon afterI checked in ...the air condition was not working.
