Breakfast excellent, nice environment, excellent location for a relaxing moment. At short distance you can also visit Cuenca and make nice walks in the neigborhood.

  Hostal de la Luz was a great find. The owners were extremely helpful and kind and the breakfast was good value for money. The room was spacious and clean and had a rooftop view over the river and church. The location was perfect, only a five minute walk to the town, tapas bars were closer and the area was nice and quiet. The staff were very friendly and helpful, although they did not speak English and our Spanish is very limited they still managed to give us directions to some sights outside Cuenca and recommended places to eat.

  We stayed on the upper floor where floor level windows provide you with a stunning view of the hills around Cuenca - though you'll have to lie down to enjoy it. We did a leaisurely 2 hour walk by starting at the lookout parking area just above the top gate which is just above the apartments and wound down the south gorge area and then across the church plaza and down then the north gorge area to the bottom of town. We walked up but a bus runs often up the hill.
