This place completely ticked all the boxes for me. It was a very tidy, extremely functional place with exactly the descriptions mentioned on the website. The toilet and showers were upto excellent standards. The staff spoke English and stored my luggage till evening. The location is eprfect with access to the metro station which in itself is not too far from the city centre. Highly recommended.
all reviews » Excellent value for money. I was upgraded to a en-suite which was absolutely fine, quiet, clean and comfortable. Very good area with many shops, bars both cheap and expensive, very close to everthing and Metro round the corner if you are feeling lazy, plenty of buses. The area is lively but I would say safe. First of all, it is a very clean and quiet hostel. It is like hotel,there is no difference. During using bathroom, i didnt see any person in the hall. Location is perfect, very near to la ramblas street,by walking 10 minutes, and near to metro station by walking 1 minute. Price is very reasonable. Clean, budget-friendly, very decent hostel in excellent location. The staff had been very accommodating. Even after checking out, they allowed me to leave my luggage at the hostel and use their wash room to freshen up before catching a red-eye bus to Madrid. I highly recommend Pension Peiro. Pensión Peiró is located in a very convenient location, close to many cafés and restaurants, and a quick walk to the metro. But there are plenty of places to eat round the corner. For those extremely fussy, you should bear in mind that in my room wasn't air conditioner, I had only a fan. But it wasn't a problem as I didn't spend too much time in the room apart from sleeping. Bathrooms were dirty and were not cleaned often. There was no dustbin kept in the shared toilet. Word of caution: most people do not know "Pension Piero", one needs to ask around for "Hostal Appollo" which is essentially one and the same. This is an old building so the walls are thin, earplugs are advised. Some minor details would make it just that much better such as hooks for coat and towel. The main heat was shut off, and the little heater they had barely kept the room warm enough for me. Many people will find this fine i am sure. Could hear the doors slam or talk and it was kind of loud. Nothing. Wi fi signal was sometimes a bit weak in the rooms. Construction a bit noisy, but that can"t really be helped. The pension is non-expensive and likely so, the room was just very moderately equipped, e.g. without any small table. Wifi was unstable. Room was very small. It is a little noisy because Barcelona is full of activities at deep night. Nothing great, no complaints really, for what I paid, it was great. too loud inside of the hotel, the door banging all the time... The street, where hostel located, is a bit noisy. the hot weather therefore the hostel may be better to provide fans or air-cons for the customers. bed was too short for tall persons ( 1m90 + ), there was a wardrobe directly behind the bed that couldn't be removed backwards. Despite of online pictures no vieuw street or gardenvieuw but on open stairway ( room nr 1 ). in my room I can hear everything from the share bathroom. Room facing the courtyard was very noisy, you could hear noise from the neighbors, dogs barking, other hotel guests entering and leaving rooms. I was awakened by the apartment above me using their bathroom and very loud flushing toilet. Must ensure WIFI can be available everywhere and anytime in the range of hotel. Small room. Near rooms could be noisy. The tourist pressure is very high. there are no such). Refurbishment underway so not in good order. Holes in ceiling and walls. The bed only just fit in the room. The room description said it had a window looking out onto a courtyard. The courtyard was the size of 2 liftshafts and as the room was low in the building, light and air did not get in but the noise from the other apartments did. Only for the students.
