Situated in Santa Lucia Estuary, Lodge Afrique offers free-standing thatched suites with full Afro-Victorian bathrooms. It features an outdoor pool surrounded by a tropical garden and an African-style bar. Free WiFi is available in all rooms. At Lodge Afrique the rooms are spacious and equipped with air conditioning and comes with a mini fridge. Each has a private outdoor shower leading off the patio. All the suites are connected to the central lodge by a raised wooden deck pathway over the garden. We liked Everything about Lodge Afrique! Tessa, Cindy and the rest of the staff treated us so well we asked if we could move in! We were planning onIy a one night stay but liked it so much we stayed two. I give them 10 out of 10. The rooms are very comfortable and homey! The surrounding garden is serene and relaxing. I cannot say enough good about them. We are on a month holiday in SA and Lodge Afrique is one of my top picks of places we have stayed. Highly recommend it to everyone! Or at least.
all reviews » Spacious huts amidst beautiful tropical gardens. Nice areas outside to sit and relax. Staff is very welcoming and hospitable. Tenants included people from Asia, Europe, South Africa and USA. They close the gate at dusk, so make sure you take your keys. Great location; within walking distance to town which includes a number of restaurants, bars and shops. A variety of activities are available; whale watching, hippo & crocodile river cruise, horse back riding safari, diving, relaxing at. Spacious comfortable lodges with small deck to sit out on. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. We liked the honesty bar and sitting area. Nice mix of guests. It's an easy walk to the town where there is a good choice of restaurants, bars, supermarkets/general stores. Not far to the Westlands reserve. Make sure you have your swipe key and room keys with you at night as there isn't always someone at reception. After 5 days im bush, Lodge Afrique was like comming in Heaven to us!!. Comfortable, clean, lots of space, big CLEAN and funktioning bathroom / shower, delicious breakfast, extremely friendly personell! Tessa, the managerin, was very kind and helpfull, she even called me after i had forgotten my jacket and send it to my home in Austria! I would definitly come back at Lodge Afrique again!. This is probably the best place to stay in St Lucia. Very friendly staff, helpfull to suggest and arrange excursions, we enjoyed the beautifuly decorated lodge and the lush garden. The swimming pool is small but sufficient for a relaxing sunbath. St Lucia is a great place to stay at beach and to visit the wetlands. Cape Vidal is definitely worth a visit. Everything was Excellent and we would stay there again on our next visit. Very picturesque place. Extremely helpful and informative staff. Calm atmosphere Small lodge, no groups Sparkling pool. Comfortable room, beautiful garden, central location. There was Nothing to dislike!. Wifi could be made easier to access for guests (easy password that you can remember in stead of difficult code to enter every time you use internet)!.

Travelling information

From Durban: - Take the N2 north -- you have the option of the toll road or the alternate route via Stanger. - 40 kilometers after the turn off to Richard’s Bay, - Take the right turn off to Mtubatuba and St Lucia (R618). - As you arrive in Mtubatuba, turn left at the stop street, then second right (R618) to St Lucia (± 27 km). - When you arrive in the iSimangaliso Wetland Park (St Lucia itself): - Pass over the bridge. - Follow the road till you reach the traffic circle. - Turn left into McKenzie Street (this is the main street of St Lucia). - And then turn right onto Beach Road. - Follow this road until you reach the first turn off to the right, onto Pelikaan Street. - Make your first turn to the left onto Garrick Avenue. - Make your first turn to the right onto Hornbill Street. - We are number 71 (you cant miss the big signboard on the left).
