We arrived and were promptly met by Deon, even though he just had a new baby! He catered to us even though he was busy! We booked the Milkwood suite and a budget double, and he upgraded the budget to a very nice suite. The rooms were good sized, had fairly large refridgerators, and huge bathrooms. The place was built by Deon and his family and had wonderful wood counters and beams. It felt very luxurious, and was really reasonably priced. The full breakfast was cooked by Deon and served in a ni.
all reviews » Very nice breakfast, manager is friendly, free laundry service, free wifi, equiped with all the necessities, reasonable price, near the beach (500 meters or 10 min walking), small shopcenter (kwikspar, liquor store, pharmacy and dvd rental) is nearby (200 meters or 5 min walking), a bit bigger shopping center with restaurants and beach shops near the beach in 15 min walking distance. The hotel was clean and comfortable in a quiet location. Parking is in front of the garages but the area is good. Staff were very friendly and the breakfast was very good. Idea location for one of the best beaches in South Africa that takes approximately 5 minutes walk. The staff were very friendly especially the manager Kobus. The room was beautifully furnished and we were treated like royalty. It is excellent value for money for whatever reason you want to stay there. Everything! The owners are fantastic and the breakfast was much more than expected. You feel at home and everything is impeccably clean!. The room & bathroom very spacious & lovely. Very close to the beach. Lots of stairs to climb to our room which was ok for us but older or disabled people would struggle. No staff after hours. Pool could have been cleaner; need more loungers. Some extra attention to detail needed. It was too cold. Wooden steps were a bit tricky for older people especially going down to the exit area When wet they pose a danger.The parking area in front of the garages is in a state of crumbling where it meets the tar. Budget room was budget and smelly but okay for our purpose. The apartment was not clean. Dust and hair balls on floor. Window-sills undusted. No shampoo or shower soap provided. On enquiring the landlady said there was a soap dispenser at the wash basin! Eventually a bar of Dettol was offered. No milk at coffee station. The toilet cistern is loose/broken. Inadequate/low quality of bedding - duvet and comforter and throw is too thin for winter.

Travelling information

From Port Elizabeth: - Take the first left entrance into Plettenberg Bay. - Pass the Engen Garage on your right which is followed by a shopping complex, and continue along this road until you reach a traffic circle. - Carry on straight over the traffic circle to enter the main road of Plettenberg Bay. - Continue on until you reach another traffic circle and take the first exit to the left into Odland Drive. - Follow this road down the hill and across the Piesang River until you reach another traffic circle. - Take the first exit to the left again into Pharos Street and carry on until the T-junction. - Turn right into Beacon Isle Drive. From Cape Town: - Turn right at the traffic circle heading towards Plettenberg Bay. - This will be Marine Way. - Marine Way will meet the main road at the traffic circle. - Continue straight over the traffic circle into Odland Drive and follow the same directions as above into Beacon Isle Drive.
