The location is great for exploring long street and other areas around there. The hotel is smart. The rooms are spacious and well equiped. The 8th floor spa is a must experience! The hotel is right in the heart of the city, so walking to interesting spots were easy!. The room is perfectly design, nice and comfortable. The breakfast buffet is brillient, various of choices. The hotel staff are friendly and well trained. Highly Recommended+++. check in at reception was well done with seating provided for guest. We stayed in a studio suite and found the kitchen area to be slightly pointless (they don't provide any cuttlery, plates, glasses or cooking utensils etc so you couldn't actually use it to cook anything!). Thne breakfast offered good choice but all the food was slightly disappointing. The music from the nightclub in Long Street kept us up until 4am. At the rates we we paying, I expected a quieter room despite being in the middle of the city. The breakfast room was crowded and loud, it took forever for our table to be cleaned and the breakfast itself was so-so!. the breakfast buffet was below standard for a hotel of this standing and the staff were not attentive. Overall service and attentiveness of general staff. Requests made was not attended to promptly and required us to request assistance numerous times. The electricity procedure (inserting room card into the facility in the room in order to activate the tv, etc), was not explained on arrival - but only after I queried the electricity supply at reception. Not enough lifts or slow lifts. Late night noise from Long street. Saturday night. Lifts can be a little painful to use. sevice at breakfast was shoddy,ordered coffee at 12.30am in the lounge/bar it took 30minutes to be served!. We were put in a room facing the long street noise from the nightclubs. When we made a request for the change of rooms, we were not attended to until we threatened to leave the hotel. We were ready to leave and find alternative accommodation. After really poor service from the lower level staff, the manager on duty went an extra mile to get us a better room. Internet and wi-fi real are very difficult to connect. The sauna was not switched on and I could not find the switch. It was Sunday afternoon so the spa was not open and I therefore could not ask any staff member to assit. Staff was unfriendly and really bad attitudes. For this reason i will not stay there again. Also for the price i would expect staff to bend over backwards for us but not the case at all. We just felt like a number on our honeymoon.A big shame. for a 5 star hotel they certainly do not pay enough attention to detail - i would only stay if you able to book at a significant discount to the rack rates - this is definitly only a 4 star establishment. The noise levels from the pubs across the street. Less toiletries provided in the room. Noisy location, next to nightclubs. Spa could improve. Located right on the main "Long street", windows of our room were to thin, couldn't get any sleep cause of the surrounding crazy loud night life. Aircon was not fixed in my room in spite of reporting it 3 times very hot in the room. Pepperclub also forgot it was my wedding anivesary. The drain was blocked in the shower, The cleaning staff woke me up early by knocking unnecessarily, the noise levels at Long street are terrible. Bad odour in rooms, no soap, cleanliness requires attention, noise from surrounding venues till 4am!. Disorganised staff, unmade room, no amenities, poor response to complaints. letsbookhotel.com did not notify the hotel of our booking, we arrived unannounced, luckily there was a room available. Breakfast nor great. Reception staff. Service, food, facilities, lack of concern about basic facilities in room.
