Pokoje Goscinne Wislna is in a perfect location, literally metres from main square and with chemist, off licence, foreign exchange and other conveniences on the street. Michael the owner is very helpful, arranged airport transfer and excursions and even beat quotes we had got elsewhere. Beds were comfortable, furniture nice and bathroom a good size too. No musky smell at main gate, more the nice smell of food from local eateries. I would 100% recommend to anybody travelling to Krakow. I intend.
all reviews » The best thing was that it was so close to the main square. Can't get any closer if you don't actually live on the square. I stayed at the top flat on the right - 4 up I think it was. My room was great. With a slanting roof, big beems and really well done up. Small kitchen area and bathroom. Being a female staying on my own it was actually very okay that I had to open 3 locks to get to my room. Makes you feel quite safe - not that I have heard that it would be a problem in Krakow. Great va. This was a beautiful quaint little apartment that was very deceptive. Top floor through a rather dilapidated exterior - 7 flights of stairs - opening into a modern and beautifully appointed apartment. LONG climb to get there. Very comfortable when there. Nicely kept. Very helpful maitre de. Perfect position close to market square. Walk to anywhere! Easy to miss from street. Thoroughly recommended. Don't be deceived by externals. This is my second stay at this location and was as great as the last time. This time I availed of the free transfer pickup from the airport, which was invaluable. Everything was perfect: great location (< 2 minutes walk from Market Square), very friendly, exceptionally clean, very quiet and very comfortable. Would highly recommend this place and will use it again when I return to Krakow. Apart from the long stair case up to the top room there was little to fault it. Warm, friendly and helpful. The city and people were lovely and having traveled extensively around europe I found Krakow to rank as one of the best in comparison to Prague, Brugge and Florence. Excellent. My son and his friends booked the 2 bedroom apartment which was excellent in every way making my room (Double) feel a little sparse but not a major issue. Location is excellent. As a lot of other people have mentioned you have to climb an outside spiral staircase to get to the room. It's also quite low in some areas so it could be a bit difficult it you were tall. But I was awhare of this when I booked and it would not stop me booking again. The big climb!!! But the maitre de is very strong and helped willingly. The multitude of stairs and the 4 key access system. (but the location made up for this and would not put me off staying here again). There are stairs to the apartment but the location more than makes up for a little effort! If you can't manage stairs then you would book a hotel with a lift anyway. Cold shower! Boiler broke one morning but Michael had it fixed and it could happen in any accommodation!. Nothing! I loved everything about it!!. No toiletries & the signage to the hotel weren't so visible but I think its a problem shared by most establishments in Krakow.. Hot water supply is limited, the accumulator seems small, so if you are in a big group, it should be a good idea to arrange shower time. No lift and noisy floor, but they are tiny points, it worths it. I recommend it at all. There is nothing to dislike. noisy floor boards, no lift. A fridge would of been useful in the room. The stairs and the size of the shower. Your, not the hotel's confirmation details were deficient in not stating the number of bathrooms servicing the rooms. The stairs is not comfortable at all especially for children or adult with health/physical problems. Steps to rooms. Climbing the stairs. there wher no lift in the guest house. we booked a one bedroom apt. but we were put in a studio loft with no tv and up 61 steps of a spiral staircase. had we been older (i,m 55) it would have been a real hardship. Entrance area dark and smelt of urine. Unwelcome metal gate at the bottom of the stairs, which had poor lighting. Room very hot with no fan. No fire escape. Very noisy courtyard below in the early morning. Extractor fan outside window. We left on first day without seeing the proprietor (thinking that we had paid in full online) and now we are home have found out that we should have paid the hotel. What should we do?.
