Clean, comfortable and friendly. As a nice touch, we arrived way before even standard check out time (let alone check in). However, we were told immediately that the previous people had already left and that reception would do what they could to make the room available asap. We were directed to the lounge and told where we could make a cup of tea or coffee (available 24 hours a day); 20 minutes later at most we were told that our room was ready.
all reviews » Comparatively, ABC Nord hotell is one of the lower priced hotels but the rooms were still comfortable and the large communal Kitchen is a lifesaver for those on a budget - You could easily save a lot by buying fresh fish and salad/vegetables at the grocery store and cooking it yourself, or go all out by cooking a gourmet meal (which I did some people do), or, if you're less ambitious, heat up a frozen pizza or tv dinners in one of their ovens. Staff are nice and patient. If your window faces the street, at night you can have a nice view of Tromso. The breakfast is pretty good considering the price. Coffee and tea are available in the living room, if you visit tromso in winter, to take a bottle of warm tea during your day trip is reall nice. Kitchen is useful if you come back late and want to have some warm snacks. The room was spacious, and the bed was huge and comfy! Plus, salmon all you can at the breakfast buffet. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was convenient, just two blocks away from Tromsø cathedral. It's a small city anyway, so everything is walking distance. Best part? Heated bathroom tiles! FTW! :D. the kitchen is really convenient the staffs were very friendly the tea and coffee are for free which is really awesome because you'd need them to warm up after staying outside for so long the room is very pretty and the bathroom is spacious, new and clean the wifi connections is pretty good. One of the staff members Oystein made the trip for me. He was friendly, helpful and a very genuine person that went out of his way to assist in any way he could. The location of ABC was perfect and easily accessible, and the rooms were spacious and clean. Comfortable beds! On my day of arrival, the person at the reception offered to give me a lift to the beach were where I was headed to hunt the Northern Lights. Abc Hotel was great. Very clean and there were really nice and spontaneous employees. They helped you wherever they could. The prices were also pretty cheap compared to other Norwegian prices. I miss the place already!. Nothing to dislike. Some rooms have fridges, others don't which makes it worrying when keeping things like milk fresh. Being in the room below reception and opposite the laundry, we could hear the cleaners going about their business in the morning and people stomping their shoes free of snow when entering the building - but these are just minor annoyances. you need to climb a little to get to the hotel, but not a big deal. Our room was on street-level so if our window shades were open, everyone walking past could see inside. So we would just wave to them. Perhaps install frosted windows or one-way mirror tints?. nothing, it was a good stay. we enjoyed staying there very much!. One staff member at ABC was not as welcoming - I would have thought twice about staying if they were the only staff member I met on my stay. Wifi didn't work in our room, otherwise a perfect end to our trip. No cupboards or drawers in the small room. The hotel is located slightly away from the center. It became a challenge when we drag our luggage through the slippery winter road. Could have the hair dryer. Rooms are maybe a bit small and lack storage furniture (cupboards...), but nothing really serious. No major issues only the fact that the central heating/plumbing seemed to make random noises during the night which at times were fairly loud and prolonged, but possibly it was only an issue in the room I stayed in. Would still highly recommend. No elevator If you have much luggage take a taxi from the airport as the hotel is up a hill. Relatively expensive compared to the rest of Europe, but good for Norway. you have to climb up a flight of steps to get to the hostel. Which was fine, but difficult with a heavy bag. I booked a double room assuming it would be a double bed, but when we arrived we were given two single beds which was disappointing!. Their parking sucks! We parked at the Tunnel paying bomb for three nights. leaving. Basement room a little cramped with no real view from window. Dishwasher out of service, fluff under the bed. If the shared facilities had included an extra shower and toilet then it would have been useful. Pillows were too small. Do not know what is with hotels and small pillows but it is a common problem. nothing. Wi-Fi have dead angle. WiFi was hit and miss. Didn't work in my room. Very small room. A bit far up the hill. Nothing. that I had to go to another hotel after 11 to pick up my key... and lack of information that there was no elevator.... just got a new knee and it was not easy to go up the stairs. No armchair room too small. The description on the booking details included a fridge in the room. There was no fridge. The room was expensive. The Wifi was poor at times. Nothing.
