What a wonderful place. Gorgeous views, amazing room (with fjord view), great breakfast, all was excelent. One of my best experiences in Hotels in Norway. It is best if you have a car to get all the way up there, though. Or maybe catch the bus? Don't know. I even got to experience snow in the afternoon and clear sunny day the next morning. Definitely worth it, expensive as everything else in Norway is.
all reviews » One of our room (no. 313) does commend a spectacular view of Geirangerfjord and is really spacious, though the bathroom is tiny. Overall, it's pricy, but the stunning view might be priceless, so it's worthwhile to stay overnight. Very successful arrangement of the hotel, it's the first after observation desk when you are driving down from the pass to G.-village. There is a magnificent view from the windows. The stuff is very professional and friendly. Friendly staff and fantastic view over the whole fjord - the view from the fjordview rooms was indeed one of the best views in the world. Close (walking distance) to some of the famous mountain sights.the best place in Geiranger, fantastic view, food is exellent, the staff is pro friendly an helpfull, famelly filling. dont miss it if you need to stay in Geiranger. Cant beat the location, room was small facing mountain, but that's OK, we were there to see the scenery. Staff pleasant and helpful.Very good breakfast buffet. The location is fabulous, right on top of the fiord with a beautiful view. The view was fantastic Great breakfast. The view. The situation of the hotel is very good if you must stay in Geiranger. good staff, friendly, polite... nothing. it was all perfect. Parking spaces filled up quickly. Breakfast is good, but not as good as the fjord view. Another thing to complain is, we had to reserve 2 rooms (one single and one twin with an extra bed) for four people(one 10-year-old included). But in fact, room no.313, spacious enough for four, is already a twin room connected with a single, in which there is also a sofa bed. How we wish they could have allowed an extra bed in such a room!. A bit pricey restaurant. Car more or less needed to get to town. WiFi is a little weak in the room. There is no TV in the room. In order to get the view, the location would naturally be far from the tourist centre and supermarket. However it is almost halfway point to dalsnibba and very near to fyldalsjuvet. There was no specific address we could use to search using gps, we just had to keep driving up till we found the place. It was way up the hill. Impossible with luggage, no complimentary service, so taxi was 25 k (one-way). So very expensive to leave the hotel. I wanted to leave early, let them know so checked out in advance. But there was supposed to be someone who would call for a taxi for me in the morning and as a guest, I was locked out of the lobby! No one was there so I had to hitch down to the bottom with my luggage. Also the taxi expense limited food options and was not impressed. No lift! Tiny bathroom!. Small room. Only one key to the room and reception not always open -> sometimes a bit difficult for two people to do different things. No TV No elevator. Nothing. nothing. No lift-had to carry bags up three floors No phone No tour information No tv Staff saturated my wife with a soda and did not offer her a free drink. Small bathrom. Wifi does not work for 2 days during my stay. Nobody fix it. It is I pitty. Some front desk ladies who worked on 9th of August are not nice. There are not even a smile on their face. I do not know how can they survive on this position in such good hotel. However, this hotel is good. The manager should employ better front desk stuffs. The walls of the room were paper thin so we were able to hear everything going on in the rooms and corridors. We even heard what our neighbour said and when he was going to the toilets. Wifi was not working, staff unable to help, breakfast room too small for all the guests and the parking was so strange we had to park our car on the road next to the hotel on the advices of the hotel's staff. If you can avoid this hotel go elsewhere. no VFM for the price you pay to stay here...we we struggling to find power plugs to charge...
