The service was excellent from the time we came to when we left. The room large and with a view. Bathroom modern and comfortable. Beds comfortable and with quality bedding. Extra towels available which came handy. Breakfast great and good quality. Business centre good and quick service when we needed one. Staff friendly, very clean and well appointed, excellent location on beachat end of bus/tram routes (not far from hockey club where we were going- hc Kleine Switzerland).

There is no information whatsoever about the fact that the hotel will try to block 200% or more of the price of your stay on your credit card upon arrival. This really is an annoying habit, which should be explained clearly when you book your room. I stayed there for two weeks, so they blocked over 4 weeks' worth of stay.On the room TVs, XXX adult channels can be viewed briefly (0.5 seconds), but completely unsensored (!) when channel surfing, unless a security block is requested in advance. I was told this is common practice at Dutch hotels. This can be shocking for children, and even some adults. The breackfast was not included in the room daily rate.next to our room was some sort of a train station which made a lot of noise. Parts of the hotel have not been renovated for a while (carpets!). The (indoor) pool is small and often crowded (summer afternoons). Food in the restaurants was good, not excellent. A few more amenities (such as robe and slippers in the room) would be appropriate in this price category. If you have a seaside room, be aware that there may be loud parties at the nearby beach clubs on weekend nights. Interior of hotel is dated but clean. Paying for the use of towels in the health facility.Some parts of the room and public areas seemed a bit old and run down. The elevators being tied up with cleaning staff during the morning when guest are trying to leave.the terrrace outside at the roadside. Renovation work spolied it a bit, but the new layout looks good.it was very noisy room that we got, it was located just next to the staff room, constant noise, banging on the door, plus the trams...also, we ordered breakfast to the room and waited for over an hour, had to call again, the staff forgot the room number?... food at restaurant and breakfast. the staff was to young. (students).And one day the room was not cleand!! The prices off the drinks to much !! The lift (elevator) was to slow, and out off order!. the toilet of what they defined a "superior luxurious room" was extremely small. The swimming pool was very very small (10m * 5m?...). The room was not perfectly clean (but this happens often in Holland, unfortunately...).

The Beach Brasserie is a stylish and cosy restaurant by the sea. It is located right by the dunes and offers a splendid view. Due to special lighting, dining in every atmosphere is possible, an unforgettable experience. Surprise your senses with the creative creations of our Chef. Dining in the Beach Brasserie is equivalent to enjoyment of all different tastes, smells and colors.

If you are more in the mood for fish or meat from the grill, our Smugglers Grill is a definite recommendation. The menu offers many wonderful grill dishes. When you come dine between 17.00 and 19.00 hours, we serve children until 12 years a free childrens menu ( maximum 2 per 2 adults). The Smugglers Grill is open between 17.00 and 23.00 hours.

From March until October we have our own Carlton Beachclub on the beach. The stylish Beachclub is located in front of the Carlton Beach Hotel.

Please note that if guests book an extra bed they will automatically be upgraded to a Deluxe Double Room. Please note that parking facilities at the accommodation are subject to availability and available at a surcharge of EUR 22. Parking is also possible at Zwarte Pad (EUR 15.70) and Parking Scheveningen Bad (EUR 19.20). Please note that the surcharge for pets is EUR 27.50 per night.

By car:

From Amsterdam (and Schiphol), you can follow the A4 and A44 motorways to The Hague and Scheveningen. You enter The Hague via the ‘Utrechtsebaan’, which you follow until it ends and you take a right turn at the T-junction (traffic lights) in the direction of Wassenaar. At the next crossing, you take a left turn in the direction of Scheveningen. You then follow the Van Alkemadelaan and the Zwolsestraat until it crosses the Gevers Deynootweg where you take a right turn at the traffic lights. After 300 meters on the left-hand side, you will see the Carlton Beach.
