I loved its postion and our room overlooked the Church of St Bavo's. My 86 year old mother was enthralled and had never in her life stayed some-wehre like this. It was worth all the trouble at the airport getting her there. She is in a wheelchair and we found all the facilities and staff exteremley helpful. the antiques and the bar of the hotel. its worth staying1 the reto serves freshly made pasta which i think is super.all reviews »
excellent location right in the city center, on a relatively quiet square. Helpful staff. Central location.the best place staying at Haarlem.Haarlem is unforgettable. Location and breakfast.This is a comfortable hotel in the centre of Haarlem, only a 10-minute walk from the station. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is a hearty buffet breakfast, served in a room which has comedy Hollywood-style ancient Egyptian decor made of plastic. great location, beautiful building, clean well maintained rooms, accomodating staff. Very nice room, large and open and quite but we stayed Sunday and Monday Night. Great value, great location, comfortable atmosphere.The staff were particularly good as was the food in the pasta restaurant. Location -The hotel is very close to the Cathedral, our room had a view up to the tower which we enjoyed, very easy access to places to visit. Appreciated the voucher for the bar and the atmosphere in there. Staff helpful and friendly. Interesting furnishings around the building.Wonderful location and friendly staff. Breakfast is also accompanied by an unendurable tape of a shouty, brain-dead American chanteuse; fortunately it is possible to ask for it to be switched off.Nothing that can actually be done with the bells of the church. The small flat screen TV high on the wall was difficult to watch. Breakfast range was good but the quality of the coffee and of the scrambled eggs poor. Corny Egyptian decor of breakfast room a little disturbing. I would have liked to have tea/coffee supplies with pot to make hot water in the room or if not, at least near reception for free use by guest throughout the day. Breakfast was about 15 euros. Don't bother - better to go out.very expensive breakfast. not worth it. the shower. If you get a room with a view on Oude Groenmarkt, it can get somewhat noisy at night. It was a very noisy hotel.

The Ambassador City Centre Hotel is situated in the pedestrian zone of the historic centre of Haarlem. The city of Haarlem is known for its historical façades and courtyards. The Frans Hals Museum, the Corry ten Boom Museum and the Teylers Museum (the oldest museum in the country) are all at a stone’s throw from the hotel.
If shopping is your thing, Haarlem is also a great destination. Haarlem has often been voted as the best shopping city in the Netherlands and you will be able to spend as much or as little as you like in all the different shops and antique stores. The shops are a good combination with a nice lunch or a drink on one of the terraces.
Haarlem is also the perfect starting location for many different excursions: Amsterdam (where you can shop even on Sundays), the beaches of Bloemendaal, Zandvoort (beaches, circuit, casino), the flowers of the Keukenhof in Lisse (opened from March until May) and National Park De Kennemerduinen where you can hike and bike (bike rental in the close vicinity of the hotel).
It is also nice to visit the annually organised events like the flower parade, Dance Valley, Haarlem Culinair and Haarlem Jazz.

- A taxi from the airport takes around 20 minutes.
- Or, take bus number 300 to Haarlem station, which leaves every 15 minutes from the airport.
By Car:
- Take the A9 motorway (from Amsterdam to Alkmaar).
- Exit for Haarlem (N200 Rottepolderplein) at the roundabout and follow signs for Haarlem.
- On entering Haarlem you will see a small city tower. At the traffic lights turn right and at the next traffic lights left.
- Continue, cross a bridge and turn left.
- Drive along the river until you find De Appelaar car park (after about a kilometre) on Spaarnestraat.
From Haarlem Station:
- Walk towards the big church, straight through the Kruisweg or the Jansweg.
- The hotel is behind the church.
