The location was perfect, less than 10 minutes to central station and close to the red light district but not on top of it. The street where the hotel is located is full of restaurants and it is just off of Dam Square, which is great for shopping. i was very happy to find it so clean and the staff were fantastic!. Very easy to get to, in the centre of town! Mikey the black kitty was very sweet!. I have stayed at this hotel twice and would recommend it to anyone who wants to be close to the red light district and coffee shops without the sleaze. It's a great location, the rooms are comfortable and the staff are very helpful.Best location in Town. The staff is very friendly and I´d come back for sure. The matress was disgusting. The noise from other guests. Banging ofdoors.No elevator. Altough I had a double room and paid more than a single room, my room was smaller than a single room. That was not fair.The room was without simple items such as soap and shampoo. Rubbish bins inside room were not emptied from the previous customer.

Hotel de Gerstekorrel is absolutely one of our best two star hotels in Amsterdam. If they have rooms available, you have to try it! Better location is hard to find; the hotel is perfectly situated in the very heart of Amsterdam,near main shopping streets and canals.
