We had a really great stay at Riad Naya! Hassan came to pick us up from the edge of the Medina (petit taxi from train station to Bab Laksoor entrance - 20dirhams) and immediately made us feel very welcome at his place. The Riad is newly renovated and very colourful with a great rooftop/terrace area to relax (and smoke some shisha or have a drink!). The breakfast was great (bread, jam, yoghurt, juice, tea etc) but there is also open access to the kitchen area and fridge so you can buy some thing.
all reviews » Already lots has been said about this small four room riad. We found the owners very involved with the guests. We have been drinking wine with them and the other guests until deep in the night for more than one evening. There is a very informal and relaxed atmosphere. The rooms are basic but kept spotlessly clean. The riad is situated on walking distance of the city centre but is an oasis of peace when you come back in. If you want a swimming pool, big breakfast buffet and roomservice than go . The place is amazing, it's in the heart of the Medina but it is peaceful and calm. The bed is as comfortable as the one I have at home. The rooms are very tidy and pleasantly cool, which is an added bonus when it is 30 degrees outside! Hasan who owns the place is a legend! He does everything to make your stay in Marrakech truly amazing! He can always point you in the right direction whether it is something you want to buy or anywhere special you want to eat. And shisha evenings were a special. Hassan, the riad owner, is a really nice guy, and had several shisha sessions with us. There was little formality and my friend and I felt as if we were getting some real insight into Moroccan life chatting with him. The riad is very conveniently located. We used the map given to us at the airport to find Derb Snan, though, rather than the Google map I printed out, which was wrong. Breakfast was good (traditional bread, cheese, jam, honey, olives, yoghurt, coffee etc.). The room was cleaned nea. Everything! Hassan and his whole family are wonderful! We, 4 adults with our senior mum, count ourselves blessed to have met and gotten to know them all. We were treated just like family and we definitely felt the warmth. We were all sad to have to leave. Honestly, it's not difficult to find at all if one follows the clear instructions. It has been an honour for us. Mamasita misses all of you. The bed is really comfortable and the hotel is clean and smell good, contrasting with the trash and bad smell in whole Marrakesh old town. The breakfast is also great, simple though. The staff was friendly and attended all our requests. The hospitality is superb. Hassan will pick you up where the taxi drops you off, so be sure to ask for this. We were invited to share the family meal on arrival and made to feel most welcome. It was our home in Marrakech. Hassan and his brother are lovely people,always ready to help guests (Hassan organised group dinners at local restaurants that he trusts and are money-friendly), and attendant to every request we had while staying there. The bed was comfortable. The worst thing was that we could not stay longer and we missed the BBQ on the terrace! :-( But when we come back - we'll for sure stay at Riad Naya again! :-). N/A. Nothing. There is no division between the toilet and the bedroom, but it is a cultural difference and it is not relevant, just be aware. No door between the room and the toilet, but this is a common theme in Morocco. Expect this for most riads here. the rest excellent. Unfortunately the bathroom sink was blocked and there was no one there to report it to. The riad is very difficult to find (more so than others) because there is no sign at the turnoff into the lane or even over the door.
