Very good and spacious rooms for a correct price in the green part of Palenque’s center. The staff at the desk was very friendly and helpful. If you would take the time to walk towards the center (not really that much to see), we would suggest to have a lunch/dinner at Las Tinajas. Well filled plates, very tasteful and not expensive at all!. Room size is quite ok, rooms are very clean. Hotel staff was very friendly + helpful, and always in the mood for a small chat. Pc for internet surfing available (not free of charge). Located in the center of the "restaurant" street Calle Cañada. Rooms have air con + fan. Shady outside sitting area.

The room, while not large, was well equipped. Overall, a good value for the money. Hotel Xibalba is located in a quiet, attractive part of Palenque. It is within walking distance of the center of town, the main bus station, and the transportation services for visiting the Mayan ruins of Palenque, the main attraction in the area. Very clean and a great location to town.if you have transport of your own its very easy to get to the ruins and aluxes wildlife park.bus station is a 15minute walk and there are restaurants just around the corner and coffee shop. The room is big, the bed is confortable, the bathroom is good, everything was very clean. The hotel is in front of a nice restaurant and wi-fi had a good conection in the room. The price was low for the good quality of the hotel. This is an outstanding hotel, value for the money, very clean and very helpful staff with tours we extended our stay because it was just so nice, the restaurant next door was awesome. Location. So we would suggest to take it in one of the other restaurants near to the hotel - there are enough of them to choose from e.g. restaurant Jade near to the walk bridge leading towards Palenque Centre, which we enjoyed very much. ....Maybe one day there will be a pool available.......? :-) (I would not call this a "dislike", just a suggestion). Free coffee for 10 or 15 mins each morning around 6AM. No breakfast. Everything was fine. Just the bed was a small double.everything else was great. A lot of noise at night... It was friday, and I was in the 3 floor but I could listen the people talking in the restaurant in the 1 floor. The recepcionist wasn't very friendly, but was efficient. Food in the restaurant is not a good side of this place. Open lobby is not a great choice in the place with mosquitos. It would be better if staff would speak a bit more English for such a touristy place. Hot water is not always available. No wardrobe in the room, hot water was not really hot, just a bit warm. The matraze was too soft because it was too old, I guess. the design of the hotel means that it can be noisy- sound travels up from the ground floor through the central atrium. staff were rather surly. Very noise outside the room and hot shower water problem. No espresso machine Smallish room. Soft, lumpy mattress which neither mattress cover nor sheets fitted No bedside light Hot water is solar based so its availability is intermittent Service at breakfast very slow. Wifi didn't work in the room but did work in the entrance area.
