One of the best b&b places I have stayed in all my years of travel. Tasteful, themed decor throughout the property with magnificent vistas from the rooftop terrace specially at dusk. The breakfasts served with genuine love and warmth by the madre of the casa were superb, Irene is a wonderful woman and a mother not just to her two sons but all their guests. A wonderful family who make you feel like you are a part of the family in a very genuine way. The appointments, the beds and the bathroo.
all reviews » The hostel is located in the local residential area which you will stay away from the noisy city centre and feel the peaceful time with the local. Han will wake you up in the morning to enjoy the nice city view at balcony. Every morning, the breakfast will be different and full of surprise! The owner run this hostel with heart and if you can speak Spanish, you will gain even more with the chatting with her in the morning. The breakfasts were amazing. It's a real experience to sit in a real Mexican kitchen and eat real Mexican food. Everyone was lovely. They sorted a little bed for our four-year-old a no extra cost which was so lovely. AND our washing was taken, washed and dried while we were out one day. A wonderful surprise. These people know hospitality and how to take care of people. We loved our time here. Everything...The breakfast the best ever, the view breat taking, the staff really helpfull and kind; the location a bit hard to get ther if you are older...there are a lot of stairs to go trough to get to the hotel, but totally worth the efford. The rooms extremely nice and comfy...you even get a towel and shampoo and all these for hostel price!. We had very nice stay at La casa de Dante. Our double room was huge with colorful decoration. There was an excellent home-made breakfast with fresh juices. Friendly staff! The location was bit out of center, but it was nice to walk around the small roads and alleys of Guanajuato. Friendliness of staff - superb breakfast - homely. Everything was bright and cheerful. We left there with happy hearts. Had read about steps up from town which we agree were steep however when arriving taxi driver took us to road above so only had a few steps to walk down. I loved all those little details in the ho(s)tel! Homemade breakfast was perfect! Terrace and views were great, I didn't have enough time to spend there. I would come back here.I could see that the staff really like their work and try to make guests feel like home. Great, friendly staff who loves their city, country, and culture. Everything is good in this small and cousy hotel, a real Mexican experience! Best you can get for a very good price. 20 minutes away by feet from teatro juarez, beatiful decoration, clean, great staff, real mexican breakfast. Such a welcoming, friendly place that puts inn little special touches to make you feel at home. Was so sad top leave after must a few days. The steps leading up to the property can be challenging to the elderly, the very young and people with physical disabilities. Once down the steps the historical district is a short walk. Also no porterage service so carrying luggage up or down the steps could be a problem. Stay at the room no. 6 at the top floor,the door lock with a crack which will case the noise while the wind blow strongly, I inserted something to fill the gap to remove the noise. Nothing. Nothing, I loved everything!. I have nothing to complain. You've been warned of the stairs... And I'm stad that I didn't have opportunity to stay longer. And pillows are very thick. It's not in the heart of the city but really walkable. People should know that there are about 150 to 200 steps leading from the town uphill to the hotel. This might be a problem for some, but for those who physically have no problem with climbing--the view is absolutely worth it. Some people complain about the stairs to get into the hotel, personally I dont mind, but it can be tough for someone not willing (able) to walk. There was no hot water in our bath one of the nights and the steps up to the hostel were tiring. Language barrier. Besides those, it was all good!. The bathroom lighting can be slightly better. Nothing. Loved it all.
