1. Excellent location - green mountains/hills were close by to give a beautiful view from my room windows. Yet the urban convenience of Tanah Rata town was not more than 5 minutes drive or 30 minutes walk. 2. Friendly and helpful staff - even when my group arrived earlier than the stated check-in time of 3pm, we were allowed to enter our reserved rooms. Not the usual practice in other hotels. We were also allowed to change our pre-booked package dinner. That made the experience staying at.
all reviews » It was second trip to Cameron Highlands, really glad we stayed in Dela Fern. Room was spacious. We liked hotel's design and there was no smell of dampness. So cozy and clean. Staff was friendly. Buffet breakfast was quite nice with variety of food. We enjoyed our time there and definitely will choose again. Before we stayed in Smokehouse, it's nice to try colonial style hotel, but once was enough as damp bed and rubber sausages for breakfast couldn't get out of our memory. The design of the hotel is very nice. It's clean the and we had a great view from our 4th floor balcony, it's just so romantic. Somehow; they manage to keep the room absolutely but free. It's a 5 minutes drive from town at myr 8 for one direction. The hotel offers help with your tours, but you can always go to town to get your own customized tours. It's also a 15 min walk to town downhill. Loved their breakfast. Very well located, beautiful view and landscape around the hotel. Not far from tea plantations and other sightseeing places but one do require a car to get to those places. It is located somehow out of the main center of the Cameron. Room was clean and there was wifi in the room with LCD TV. Location is excellent as it it mid-way between Tanah Rata and Brinchang where shops and eating outlets are located, including tourist attractions. Ample car parks available. I like the hotel location which is strategic, near to brinchang and tanah rata. The environment and ambience of the hotel and surrounding area was calm, cold and relaxing. The service and cleanliness was good and value for money. Very good experience for first timers. The breakfast was excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms where nice and clean, and the hotel is positioned on a very peaceful spot which makes the setting very relaxing. The distance from the hotel to Brinchang and Tanah Rata is not far.There are lots of food and their day market and night market are good. It's easy to get a parking lot wherever we go. Due to the popularity of this excellent hotel, the resulting big crowds in a small area were not too welcoming. They keep changing their WiFi password each 5 minutes! It was so annoying having to call them over and over to get the new password. And it only allows 2 devices to login with the provider password. Desk staff (concierge) was not helpful to guide us to get direction to the nearest activities (actually missleaded us), maps available at the reception do not show the scale so it is hard to guess whether one can reach there by foot or a car is required. As it was off-peak season, the breakfast menu included with the room rates was very limited, compared to the usual buffet breakfast available. The heavy traffic at Cameron Highlands, from Tanah Rata to Brinchang vice versa. Nothing. Nothing wrong with the hotel but if you want something from the nearest village its a 10 min. walk form the hotel. Not much other facilities like spa etc. no complains. no complains. The coffee house was small and could not accommodate too many guests. None. the location is deep far from the town and do not convenient for foreign & outsiders. importantly, difficult to be found. If there is ways to solve the guide direction solution is much better for customer. The ratebis on the high side. Noise from the road. Breakfast was not good, no variety of food. No cold water was available on the breakfast. No shampoo in the bathroom as well. -its too cold. The buffet breakfast provided are too simple, not much variety. we only got a carpark view, not as stated when booking: golf course view. No newspaper sent to room. The pantry drink sachet was mean to 2 cups of drinks only. Room facing the street and therefore a bit noisy. Need to provide taxi and teansport facility for ppl want to visit the town and local markets - call taxi not easy to get. the hygience condition is a drawback. the towels and sheets are not so clean. traffic were worst during school holiday. The location is perfect for the one who wants to relax since it's about 40 min walking to the markets. food taste not really good. no comment. Some of the TV channels are blurred, the wi-fi is slow and connection inconsistent. I got the room G 10 at the ground floor, not much view of the hills. Toiletries were provided except tooth brush and tooth paste. The anti-slip mat in the bathtub was very dirty and only bath towels were provided, no hand towel. The bath towels were old and yellowish. The comforter got stains and carpet got kind of smell. But above all, this hotel is a family hotel. We stayed in a Quadruple room. Although cool environment in Cameron Highlands but it was outside hotel but inside the room was quite hot, no aircond or fan. The carpets were dirty and smelled triggering a mild asthma attack. They should clean the carpets periodically, not just vacuum only. WIFI was often very slow or interrupted, breakfast with limited variety and standard quality of food. Bedsheets although clean had many unsightly stains. Towels not fresh.
