The fittings of the hotel are perhaps a little tired in places, and they are currently part way through a major refurb...which will probably double the price!   We stayed two nights in September 2013 at the Traders Hotel in Penang. The hotel is part of the Shangri-la group and used to be called the Shangri-la Inn. The house has been beautifully restored, with as much attention to detail in the common areas as the bedrooms. The huge, tasty breakfast was also a bonus!
