Very Clean, Good breakfast provided, Helpful staff, Great showers, comfortable bed. As an older couple staying here was slightly out of our comfort zone. Met some great young people who were backpacking. The bus's in and around Georgetown were frequent and inexpensive. We would recommend the Red Court Inn and hope to stay again. Really nice place to stay, extremely good location. Nice breakfast area where it's easy to meet people. And beside the usual toast and jam, they have something hot and fruit. Room was not really big (we had a double), but we fit in. The personnel is very kind and helpful.
all reviews » Unfortunately we had to return home early for ill health reasons. The staff at the Red Court Inn helped us through this very difficult period and were most sympathetic. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone for its caring and friendly attitude. The location is in the centre of the heritage, you can go to any interesting places from the hotel so easily and not too far from jetty terminal if you want to go to mainland, the staff are very friendly, welcome and helpfull. Location great to get food of all types. Lots of places to change money. Old town atmosphere surrounding you. Very neat and clean. Compact living space. Great to have pre down loaded movies/tv programs in english in room. Breakfast of fried noodles, roti canai and fresh fruit. Full-body massage shower (several jets of water at different heights). Spacious room with comfortable bed. Powerful air conditioning. Friendly, attentive staff. Always willing to help. Shared washroom facilities are the most private and roomy I have ever seen at a guesthouse. Extensive movies available on TVs. I like the interior design of this hotel, Oriental look. The room was clean and also the bathroom. The location is close to restaurants, shops and sightseeing. I love this hotel. The design of the hotel interior is very interesting. There is a possibility of renting a bike. The hotel is very well located in the old town, plenty of eating out options. Pwrfect stay for short stay in Georgetown located between Chinatown, Colonial District and Little India. Comfortable room with attached bathroom, perfect value for money. The room had excellent facilities and the bed was very comfortable, breakfast included was delicious and the staff were very friendly and on hand to answer any queries. Very comfortable rooms at a good cost for the amount of space provided. Nice for long stays as it had a large wardrobe and shelves in the room. The wooden floors, nice aroma, cozy beds, chilly air-conditioning, nice showers on the 2nd floor, wonderful atmosphere in the rooms. Standard breakfast + fresh fruits. Bed is comfortable, room has windows and of course u have to take of ur shoes. Nice, spacious rooms, with lots of storage space, shelves, etc. Great location, in the heart of Georgetown!. The bed and the pillows. very comfy. Walking distance to one of the best 'nasi kandar' in town. The stairs within the property were very steep, and suitcases needed to be carried upstairs, however the staff were very helpful. Our particular room (room101) had plaster that would flake off the ceiling and drop all over the bed and floor. Woman in room above mine snuck in her dog. Pitter pattered and barked all evening long. Hotel did address the situation because they are a pet free hotel but they were sympathetic with the guest since it was late and pouring rain outside. I had a room with AC and bathroom, it was small but cosy, hower the common showers and bathrooms were just next to the wall and you could hear everything :o( Just check where is your room located. Nothing to complain about. Breakfast started a bit late (8:30 am) and I had to eat elsewhere every morning, as I had early meetings to attend both days I was there. Breakfast can be improved, stairs too steep, showers on 1st floor have wall heads so pressure is low, mosquitoes in corridors at night. Staff seemed not very happy to have customers. Never saw a smile :/. Breakfast didn't start until 8:30am, which is really too late. I had to go out for breakfast both mornings I was there as I had work related meetings starting at 9 each day, and was up early. No housekeeping. TVs not working that well. But wont stop me from returning. no bell boy services.... I got to carry my luggage up to 2nd floor climbing staircase. - breakfast nothing to choose from. 1.The hanger in the bath room is too high to reach. Flat screen TV, but no TV, only movies. Took some time and needed help from staff to make it work (no description available). Nothing. The room we had was a bit cramped. Just a few rooms with attached shower. The staff did not help us carry the luggage (actually, it's always too heavy for a girls to carry the luggage up and down on the high stair). On a rainy day, the room leaks quite badly. Nothing. hostel got some mosquito in the room. Room was small and without bathroom. Air conditioning was leaking. Our room wasn't made up when we arrived. They took laundry to do it same day but returned in the evening not cleaned. Breakfast was very limited Facilities were very basic but did the job. Very noisey at night!! Ok for one night but would not have stayed longer. Found nicer, cheaper and cleaner guesthouses elsewhere. Our room was next to the showers, which made an awful noise in the night. It's impossible to sleep when someone is showering. 1. Extremely high steps on the stairs. 2. Lack of housekeeping, ie no one to clean the room or make the beds each day. There is no significant advantage of this hotel compare to other hotels in Penang.
