Yufuin Country Road Youth Hostel is a completely non-smoking property with free Wi-Fi throughout, a public hot-spring bath and a multi-lingual staff. Located a 5-minute taxi ride from JR Yufuin Train Station, it offers private and dormitory-style rooms with shared bathrooms.
Guests can sleep in a bunk bed or try traditional sleeping arrangements, with Japanese futon bedding on a tatami (woven-straw) floor. Toilets are shared, and bathing is done at the shared hot-spring baths. All rooms have a flat-screen TV and air conditioning, and dormitory rooms have lockers. Towels and Yukata robes can be rented for a fee, and toothbrushes can be purchased.
The property is an 8-minute walk from the Artegio museum and art/entertainment complex. It is an 8-minute drive from Lake Kinrin and Kyushu Yufuin Mingeimura folk craft village. On-site parking is free.
In addition to Japanese, English, French and Spanish are spoken by the staff. Free tea and coffee are provided at the lounge, where you can also find a coin-operated internet PC. A coin-operated clothes washer and dryer are available.
Breakfast and dinner are available at an extra cost, but must be reserved at least 1 day in advance. The menu varies daily and features a variety of cuisines.

My wife and I loved staying in a small and more traditional Japanese
house, with the use of futon bed. The hostel was very clean and tidy.
The meals organised by the hostel were delicious and well presented,
with free tea and coffee and nice heated sitting area. The staff were
very helpful and inviting.

There are many cartoon books in the dinning room. it is really attractive for the kids.
The dinner and breakfast were quite good and the hostel are very clean.
The boss, the ambience and the guests. English speaking boss, who warmed up the guests to one another with card games.
Clean hostel. Yummy meals. Nice view from the living room. It's like home away from home.
the staffs are very friendly. The breakfast is also well prepared and delicious.
Check in was 4pm daily and since we arrived early, this caused some
problems. Furthermore it is a rather big walk to Yufuin town or you will
need to pay approximately 1000 Yen, each way, by taxi.
Far from station. But they will drive you to the station everyday at 8:20.
The location is a little bit far but the air is fresh and view is good.

The hotel is on the hill and there's only one bus pass-by during a day. You could either spend 30 min. walking up with your luggage, or take a taxi there. But it's a good exercise if you don't have a luggage with you.
