I liked everything. Staff are extremely helpful, when it was raining they loaned us umbrellas, when I was sick they provided medicine, every time the cleaner saw us in the morning she wouldn't stop bowing until we leave, the one time I left my clothes unfolded in the room they even helped fold it when they did the room cleaning. What more can I say? A hotel in an excellent location with excellent English speaking staff. My second time staying in this hotel, highly recommended. Location is to co.
all reviews » The great location as the hotel is within walking distance of the Ueno station which has both the JR Keihin-Tohuku and Yamanote lines as well as the Ginza and Hibira subway lines. Ueno station is only 3 stations away from the Tokyo station. It makes getting around Tokyo a breeze. Within walking distance of the hotel are also many eating places around the Ueno vicinity. The rooms are small as expected in Tokyo but it is very clean. Amenities in the room are more than sufficient. Nice hotel, well designed rooms, very clean and the staff speaks English well. The location is perfect: Ueno is a very pleasant neighbourhood to stay and the hotel is opposite to Ueno station, one of the bigger stations in central Tokyo. It´s for example on the Tateyama line, which makes it really easy to visit other parts of Tokyo and on the Shinkansen line for Nikko and the North. Easy reachable from Narita Airport without changing trains. The hotel is very handily-placed for the Ueno main (JR) station, but also the Keisei Station for trains to Narita Airport, and with an entrance to the Subway (Ginza & Hibaya Lines) just next to the entrance. Room facilities were excellent, as was the breakfast buffet, with a wide range of Japanese and Western dishes. Also within walking distance of Tokyo's National, Science and Art museums and the Zoo. Mitsui Garden Hotel Ueno was perfectly located for those wishing to access all areas of Tokyo and for tired workers looking for an easy access hotel. It was very clean, tidy and well appointed. Although typically small as for Japanese hotels, it was trendier than some others and although centrally located, it was very quiet. Lots of choices and quick access for shopping, sightseeing and eating!. very convenient access from Ueno station (metro station is the nearest, JR Ueno station a few minutes away, Keisei-Ueno station 5min or more away). I stayed at the top floor where I could see the Tokyo Skytree, which was nice even the weather was not good and i did not take that benefit. It is expensive for backpackers, but good for business and travellers with heavy suitcases.Location was excellent, as good as it gets. Metro station few metres away and JR line just across the road. Hotel staff were extremely friendly, helped us make reservations at restaurants and printed our boarding passes for us. Hotel room was of decent size, and very clean. Very good water pressure in shower with consistent flow of hot water. Room is clean and has many useful amenities. Has 2 complimentary bottles of water for guests. Location is good and near to JR station. Less than 1 minute walk from Metro exit 1. Across the street has convenient shop too. Definitely worth the price paid. Hotel also has coin operated laundry service which is convenient for travellers. This hotel is in a great location. It is easy to find from the Ueno Station. It is a great place for a stopover and easy to access from the Skyliner which goes to the Airport. Expect small rooms- but that's Tokyo for you, and worth it for a good location. Mitsui Garden Hotel is nice modern hotel, with high level of comfort, professional and courteous staff, and a very good location (2 minutes away from Ueno Station and Ueno Park). About 6 mins walk from the JR train station made this hotel very accessable for train travellers. Staff all friendly and obliging. The room was quite compact but probably this is normal by Tokyo standards. All facilities (aircon, Wired internet and WiFi in room) worked well. Plenty of eating options nearby. I love the hotel as it is easily located, near the train (JR station and subway metro). It is near the park, a mall, and being in Ueno itself is good as its not a busy place. It has easy no changing access by rail to Narita transport hub is 300 meters from the hotel. Good access to the metro and JR rail system for exploring Tokyo. Early check in not possible but this was due to their full occupancy. Check-in time was rather late at 3pm. Room as usual is small for this price. Booked double room but bed is too small for 2 adults and 1 kid(4yrs). The space of the room itself however is quite small (i took the moderate queen, 18m2) And i can't imagine other hotels which is only 11m2! Being small, you only have 1 main place to put your luggage, and you gotta put the other luggages beneath the table. No space at all for kiddos to run around but i guess you only need the room to literally sleep/rest. Twin room was full at that time, but definitely will consider again but I'd go for twin room next round!. The room did seem to have been used by smokers in the past, as there was still a residue of that odor...not overpowering, but still could be sensed. Breakfast was just OK. Room a little small. Hotel is small...I have problem to open my luggage fully. too rigid with the early checkin or checkout requests. No flexibility at all. Nothing. No bad news, everything is just amazing. No breakfast acomodation. Bath room floor smell a little, may need more scrub. Bedrooms small but probably standard for Tokyo. Hard to find an ATM to withdraw cash from. Visa can be used but you can be sure to attract a 3% foreign transaction fee. Poor selection of western food for breakfast. I expected a mixed menu as it is a major city. What was available was not very appetising. Internet connection was good, but sometimes got disconnected. Some staff should upgrade their english speaking. More clothes hanger will help us to arrange the clothes better I would be happy to have more pillow. Poor handling of changes in reservation. Room too small, bed accessible from one side only, lack of place to store personal stuff when staying more than 1 night. All good. Ueno is not the most interesting of areas in Tokyo. Mitsui Garden hotel has another location in Ginza, a much better choice. 1. Difficulty of English communication with the staffs. Staff not much understand in english. They take time more than 15 mins to check in. or answer my question.
