The spa facilities at the Prince were very enjoyable especially the outdoor spa. - the hotel is clean and comfortable and the onsen is fabulous! there are one bath inside and one outside, sauna and places to wash yourself. position on the lake is spectacular but a bit isolated and restaurants in the hotel are expensive. they have a free shuttle service from Odawara station.

  I will remember this place as the one of the best I stayed in Japan. Staff was awesome and very helpful, room was big and we had a great view on the Hakone mountains. There is also onsen that is open 24/7.   Yumoto Fujiya Hotel wasn't super cheap, but very conveniently located, minutes from Hakone-Yumoto where you will have to change trains no matter what. It's a good place to arrive the previous night to have an easier start the next morning. The room, although not very cheap, was super spacious and comfortable. AC: worked great - Excellent location very close to the train station but very quite and relaxing. We were traveling around east Japan and this was the most expensive and poshest place we stayed but it was well worth it. Staff were great. It was clean, spacious and very comfortable. According to my companion the Onsen was perfect. I chose to get a shower with the dazzling array of toiletries provided. As well as an excellent base for exploring Hakone we took a day trip to Tokyo which took under 2 hours by train.
