friendly hotel stuff and perfect place near city center. Excellent location for Carnivale and San Marco Square. The closeness to the sites. It was in an excellent position, was very good value for money and very traditional. Reception staff were helpful and friendly. We had a problem with our shower the first morning, but without question the staff moved us to a (better!) room with no fuss - and they did the move while we were out.the staff were very helpful and pleasant, breakfast was also very nice - cereals, bread roll, croissant, cake, fruit, yoghurt, cheese, juice, hot drinks. Being right next to Canal. Closeness to both St Marks Square on one sideand quiet park and walk on other. Choice of restaurants close by.The hotel is minutes from Piazzo San Marco, Staff were very helpful, rooms were ensuite and breakfast was lovely. location was great, staff friendly and helpful. A fan was provided however. The bathroom was nice but the shower area very small. No bar - but very central. The breakfast was...italian!. The location of the shower inside the door into the bathroom is a problem.Once you have a shower the entire bathroom floor is saturated as there is no shower tray.Room was small for 4 people. Shower was so small that it was difficult to wash without flooding the entire bathroom floor. The hotel was difficult to locate, but a quick call on the cell phone guided us to the hotel. Given the size limitations of the building I thought it was a verynice hotel.It would be nice if there was air conditioning in the summer. breakfast was very poor , no service , everything was out of machines and hard work. There were not cheese, eggs and prosscuito on breakfast. no elevator...In the room during our 3 day stay smeld like cigarette. One they we found a garbage bag in our room. The top blanket was very dirty. The breakfast is very poor, it is not a realy buffet breakfast.Small rooms, but acceptable considering the cost of hotels in venice. only the noise of building works being done at the side of the hotel.Breakfast was a bit limited. The matress on the was hard and therefore not very comfortable. The night desk staff was not helpful. In fact he was at times he was rude. My check the worst time, I have experienced. Surly and rude descrbes him. I had one problem. I checked out at 5am and their credit card machine wasn't working. They did take the info and process later but initially they wanted me to run down to the ATM and get cash.No elevator. No air conditioning.
