The staff is helpful--Silvia, in particular, was a super, unfailing resource for information about shopping and restaurants. The location is terrific--right near the Accademia and its important vaporetto stop, and just across the bridge from the busy and more crowded San Marco area. I enjoyed the fact that the hotel was so close to the action without being overly noisy at night. Very friendly staff and clean room. Very comfortable beds .The breakfast was also very good and on informing the staff I was coeliac before visiting they were happy to accommodate me with wheat free bread free of charge. The location was excellent a few minutes from the accadamia bridge and waterbus. I would certainly stay there again and also recommend this hotel.

I haven't stayed in another Venice hotel, so I cannot be sure how to compare, but I did find the room to be a bit small. The only smallness that really mattered, practically, is that the bathtub was not long enough for an adult actually to soak in--it was perhaps 3/4 or less the length of a modest American bath. This might be typical for Venice at this middle-level price point. Minor quibble.The shower cubicle was a bit cramped. Very small lift, but caused by design and old age of the building. Perhaps part of the charm of the hotel!. No free wifi. Bathroom slightly small, but well appointed. Getting stuck in the elevator when it broke down. the room was at the lower limit in size. evening meal very disappointing, stairs hazardous. Lack of amenities at the hotel, no bar or adequate seating area. Bedrooms were small, so not good to sit in. One extremely rude member of staff who was aggressive, rude and dismissive and who ruined our stay at the hotel. Avoid this hotel.
