The apartment was very cozy, elegant, well equipped with kitchen and dining table, seperate bedrooms with double bed for parents and children, clean bedsheets, pillow covers, towels, equipped with fridge, microwave, gas cooking range, washing machine, iron press, clothes stand, in a silent area of town yet 5 mins walk from railway station. Remember to take your own Soap/Shampoo. Best thing was that there was a Grocery store(super store) just at 1 minute walk from the apartment and 2 to 3 good r.
all reviews » A warm welcome from Arrigo started our wonderful 4 day Venice experience! Do take notice of his recommendations! We stayed in a 2 bed apartment very close to bus and train station. Apartment was very clean, spacious and kithcen had everything you needed for either a quick breakfast or dinner. Coop (supermarket) just around the corner (5 mins walk) or a smaller corner shop 2 mins away. An apartment in Venice! Say no more. These are as rare as hen's teeth, and this is a good price. The Jewish Quarter apartment is large, comfortable, and quite close to train station and bus stop. Great restaurants and shopping in the immediate area. Well furnished and spacious. Great for families, and we would stay here again. Friendly host who was helpful with tourist ideas. "What did you like?" - EVERYTHING! We lived in "Santa Croce". Very pretty apartment, a lot of useful stuff in the kitchen, also salt, oil etc. Very close to railway station (like 5 min). The owner was very nice and helpful, explained us, how to get to the supermarket and suggested some restaurants, we tried one of them and it was amazing. Very pleasant location - quiet but still very easy access to train station (10 minutes with only one bridge). Spacious flat with good sized rooms, kitchen and a nice private patio. Clean and some recent partial renovations. Reasonable price compared to usual Venice rates. Staff was very friendly and helpful with local information. Staff met us at the station and took us the flat - we would not have found it otherwise! The apartment in Santa Croce was right in the centre of Venice and very close to a local supermarket and vaporetto. We were woken by church bells - very atmospheric. Very friendly and knowledgeable owner who gave great recommendations about things to see and places to eat. Very warm and cosy. Really close to the train station (literally, less than 5 mins walking). Location was excellent, Arrigo was pleasant and helpful. Easy walk to shopping, train, bus and the canal taxi service. Very nice. the location is near to the train station and the water bus very clear and the stuff meet us at the train station and change the bill format to be accepted from my work. Apartment did not have internet or TV facility which means no entertainment or news or connection to outside world while you are in venice. But in fact you never will have time for all that while you are in Venice. Hot water was off when we arrived, and we had to find the boiler and turn it on ourselves. Crockery and cutlery is a bit disjointed, and there was no washing powder or toilet paper when we arrived, but these were easy to source nearby. These issues may have been unique to our stay. No wifi available in the apartment though, and the Venice Wifi is 100m away (so to check emails etc. you have to go to a coffee shop around the corner). It really does need wifi. It's on the 1st floor right on the way from railway station and Piazzale Roma, so almost 24h a day you here tourist walking with their trunks. It's just a hint: don't forget earplugs!. Front door lock needs servicing - not everyone in our party was able to get the trick to open it. This should be dealt with. Supplies in the flat (towels, sheets, dishes, utensils, etc) could use an update as they are looking a bit worse for wear. Typical European hard beds - we slept fine but worth being aware if you are picky. The apartment is on a main route between the station and St Marks - so there are a lot of tourists waking past. These can occasionally be noisy at night but not much after 11pm, and not heard from the main bedrooms. The shower isn't very warm or powerful. The door is a bit difficult to unlock!. No internet connection or English TV available to keep in touch with family & world news. absence of venice map. Make sure you travel light to Venice, as there are a lot of stairs in the town, and no lift to the apartment. Inside could be renovated. The cleaning lady showed up only on the last day. When we arrived at the apartment to pack our luggage, she appered suspisious of us and sounded almost rude. She did not even do her cleanup duty satisfactorilly. Could use a little updating. No wifi inside the apartment. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. In a score out of 10 it rated a -2! Even the sofa bed mattress was better... Small TV no working, No WiFi, washing machine not working. Oldies furnitures. Apartment need some repairment. Weird apt. planning - a tiny, cubicle shower is right from the sitting room while a toilet with basin - from the bedroom. no wifi, sofa too soft and old, it is not comfortable for sleep. The apartment smell's not good, maybe the reason is sometimes nobody live in there. The apartment needed renovating and there were limited cooking facilities, not enough pillows and really small towels. There was no warning that we would need to walk with our heavy bags up several steps AC was not functional and was partly broken; the owner was dismissive when contacted. He claimed that we must be "too rich" to expect better Insects were crawling in the fridge and utensils were dirty and stick. 1. Boiler does not work correctly 2. Bedding is old and tattered 3. Place is dirty 4. Utensils bare necessity 5. Budget 5. over expensive for the facilities. The location is quite poor.
