Varenna must be o - We were delighted with the welcome we received by Proprietor, Luara. on arrival and from then on with the friendliness of all the staff. Our room in the Villa, overlooking the lake,was a sheer delight, and to receive a cheery greeting each morning entering the dining room started the day off with a swing. All amenities were very good. I had read on a review that WiFi was "crap". This was not the case at all. We have recommended Villa Torretta to two friends and we only arrived back in Australia

  Ideal location in the most relaxed town on lake como. We could not have asked for a better stay. We managed to get room 26 which had 2 balconies overlooking the lake. The room was large and had everything we needed for 2 days. The staff were friendly and the breakfast one of the best. We spent two beautiful days in verenna and we miss it so much. ... what people say » The vibe was great, wandering down the coast, every restaurant has a view and are fairly inexpensive. The galati, amazing, and we would highly recomme - Hotel Olivedo is a lovely hotel that sits right at the edge of Lake Como. The rooms are large, clean and very comfortable. The staff were very nice and helpful with local knowledge/information. The hotel is a real mix of modern upgrade with an authentic Italian feel. When you wake in the morning, you open the french doors to look out to an absolutely breathtaking view of the lake.( I still think about that view!)   We stayed in Casa Rossa, it was wonderful. We were almost put off from booking this place due to some of the negative comments posted here concerning the distance from the main hotel, lack of an elevator, the flights of stairs or room size. None of these are an issue for able bodied people. We stayed in room #14 which is up two flights of level, e... what people say » ven and wide stairs which are easily negotiated even with luggage. The room was a good size with adequate space for two large bags and their contents - We stayed in the apartment annex which was very cosy.The staff were extremely helpful and could not do enough for you.Breakfast was nice and the location was wonderful.Their dinner menu was great and value for money. I could reccommend this hotel

  We loved everything about this hotel...from the ride up the two lifts, to our balcony overlooking the sea, and the delicious dinner and great breakfasts which were seved with a beautiful view of Lake Como. The hotel was situated within walking distance to Varenna and we really enjoyed the walk along the water. We would definately stay here again!... what people say » - Our room (Fiumelatte) had a very large balcony with commanding views of the lake. The breakfast terrace also provides panoramic lake views. The room was clean & comfortable with safe and mini bar. Free wi-fi is also included. This is a beautiful property.

The Varenna-Esino station isn't on any map I could find online, but it's a short 8-10 minute downhill walk to this hotel, and another 2 minutes to the Varenna jetty on the lake.
