We got in very late due to airline delay..and they were wonderful in holding our room and getting us into the hotel room. The breakfasts were fantastic. The room price was worth every dollar. They even helped us avoid an 18 Euro parking fee every day by telling us about the very reasonable metered parking lot right across the street. The views were great. The location was perfect. You can walk everywhere from the Savoia. A perfect jumping off place to go to Croatia and Slovenia. We have been to.
all reviews » The location of the hotel on the waterfront and in the center of historical amenities are two reasons to stay here. The city bus services are conveniently located just outside the hotel's doors. The hotel is located in an historical building (we had a balcony facing the water) with rooms that were immaculate and whose staff were very helpful. An added bonus was that our car rental office was only a few minutes' walk from the hotel. we had a fabulous large room with 2 balconies and a great view over the bay. The staff were all most friendly and efficient. Well positioned near the main square and all the shops and nightlife. Trieste was a surprise. Really buzzing and beautiful. There was a free jazz festival on for the whole week we were there. Great location and beautifully furnished with wonderful public spaces and excellent room 125. Service and value for money in bar for refreshments was excellent. Breakfast was also very good but we didn't use restaurant for evening dinner as local restaurants offered a good range and relatively inexpensive prices. The room we had -room 414(presidential suite we were told) was beautiful with 2 rooms, a walk in closet and a large bathroom. There was ability to open a door to an adjoining bedroom if necessary. The appointments were all top grade and the design and colors were lovely and relaxing. Excellent stuff, professional and helpfull in each and every way. Amazing location with great sea view. It was a beautiful bathroom but you have to hold the shower nozzle with one hand and soap in the other and that is not fun. Extend the shower cable and have a high place to hold the shower nozzle. Also the half glass opening to the tub tends to get the floor very wet. There was absolutely nothing to dislike. There was no ramp for my wife's wheelchair at the front of the hotel. The ramped access is at the back through staff areas. We usually used the doorman to help us up the 3 steps at the front. Leaving !. Although the hotel overlooks the water, there is a very very busy four lane road that runs between the hotel and the water. The lovely balcony that was outside our room could only be enjoyed with the understanding it would not be a peaceful time there. We enjoyed the weather, but not the noise. Wifi is not free except for maybe 15 mins for your stay. Not a beach town. None. only one thing: when I arrived, the taxi driver was overcharging me and we had an argument. The porter stood there doing and saying nothing. i would have gone inside and asked people at desk for help,. but was afraid to leave for fear driver would go off with my suitcase in the trunk. I speak enough italian that both the driver and porter/doorman knew what was going on. I felt very undefended. The driver was menacing. Kitchenette in the room should be equipped with basic pots, plates and cutlery. Otherwise theres no use. As a traveller no one can bring these from home ! Breakfast should have a live cooking station for eggs etc. Waiting staff needs to be more friendly ie come and ask what hot drink we would like instead of us chasing after them. Not possible to switch off air-condition, ventilation noisy - we kept window open. it could be cheaper...but you know... ;). and the 'american' coffee is just SO bad. I really can't think of anything. Receptionist could have been more attentive. Chaotic breakfast arrangments with an uninteresting breakfast. Wi fi only free for 30 minutes, in the present day charging holiday persons as well as business travellers is a thing of the past, it should be free. Parking should be free not at the cost of parking across the road 1.4o euro / hour approx, or is the council simply interested in screwing (fottare) tourists, in Bologna 9 euros/day. There was nothing to dislike but it would have been good if when staff made the evening call to the bedroom dirty cups could have been washed. nothing. Wifi not available free of charge. This is a small issue but one I feel management should access as even in the smallest more affordable hotels provide free wifi. WIFI 30min free, then you need to pay. For this kind of hotel and price, WIFI must be included. nothing. Expensive, off-site parking. Internet access was restricted to one device at a time. Nothing, but you have to pay for this level of service and comfort. Three gripes 1. wifi only for half hour otherwise payment was required 2. poor pillows-need a few bulky ones for sitting up on the bed 3. Totally perverse -no flannel/ small towelette in bathroom amazing for this class of hotel and we have stayed in classy hotels on every continent. lack of a pool or spa. The breakfast was ok but less than expectation, no pool or spa. As everywhere in Triest there are parking problems. Only vallet parking in the hotel. A balcony would have been nice or a sea view. In week-end the breakfast hall was crowded and there was a luck of waiters and dishes. On Monday it was very good organized. Nothing. only Italian newspapers. Having to leave. Nothing other than having to leave!!. no clocks in the room by the bed, breakfast was ok not great - very typical food - nothing special which didn't fit in with the rest of the hotel. service very slow. Breakfast only ok. Internet connection not always good. That you have to pay for the internet service at such an exclusive hotel.
