Fantastic location for shopping and sightseeing in Milan. Could see the Via Dante/Piazza dei Mercanti from our balcony. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Had a wonderful meal at a very authentic italian bistro, 18 Novello, on their recommendation. Suite was spacious and elegant. Hotel is set in an historic building with 12 foot ceilings. Wished I'd booked a rooftop terrace room!. The hotel is located in a residential house. Standard European hotel, the optimum combination of price and quality, good European Breakfast. Convenient location. I was with a colleague on a business trip, the rooms have given next. The staff of the imperceptible. I was a feeling, that apart from us in the hotel there is none, although the hotel was more than full.
all reviews » Our room was not ready when we arrived and the staff could see how tired we were from the travel..so they upgraded us to a suite. It was one of the most luxurious accommodations we had ever been. It had a very "artistic" flair, yet the charm if an Eoropean accommodation. Steps away from the center of it all!. It was the second time we stayed at this small hotel. Excellent lovely rooms, welcoming staff, perfect location 10min walking distance from the duomo, quiet location, good breakfast. The design elements and paraben-free personal products were most admirable. The staff was cheerful and helpful. The room(s) are very spacious and clean. Antica locanda Dei mercanti is in the middle of the city centre en close to the Duomo, Brera and other intresting places. All within walking distance. This is a charming tiny hotel located on the second floor of a multi use building a few blocks away from the Duomo. Great location, simple, modern & pretty. Staff was always helpful. This is an old building and you get a key for the door within a door, to get into it at all. It is so close to la Scala, the Duomo, and the Galleria, that no where is better. The rooms are delightful, the staff lovely and helpful and the ambience is magical. I've stayed before and will go back again. the hotel is clean, big room, confortable. Not many negatives. Breakfast was little meagre. Would have liked a bit of protein (cheese or cold meat), instead of just sweet croissant and bread. Missed having a hotel lobby a little but being steps from the piazza made up for it!. The construction across from the hotel. Everything perfect!. Checking out we had to pay over a 100 euro extra for breakfast. Dispite the included breakfast eggs and ham are extra charged without prior notice. A little pricey. Breakfast was adequate but a little stark. Food and beverages were pf good quality. Would have liked a simple electric kettle to boil water, tea bags or instant coffee-for evening,etc. The keys are awkward. liked everything. They don't change bookings - even by one day. With almost every other hotel taking changes up to 24 hours before, it seems a bit inflexible. You really need to make sure your dates are right. too simple, bad quality of towels and bed pillows etc.
