I liked everything about this place . I stayed with my 11year old daughter as we were goin to the o2. It's on d luas line only 1 min away. It had a really cool feel to the place. Great for young people and family's alike. Although its a hostel it didnt feel like it . Bar staff were helpful and friendly. Reception staff were welcoming. The hostel is very secure. when u walk through the hall to your room it smells fresh and clean. Beds were comfortable. it was as good as any hotel for a great pri.

On May 29, when I changed rooms, I realized I'd left my passport in Room 109. Karine at the desk alerted the cleaning staff. Corinna, whose team had already done the room, made a special search and found it where it had slipped down under the mattress. I shall forever have fond memories of Generator Dublin and hope to stay there again, or in any other city where yo. An amazing hostel.beautiful decor,a bar that you would go to even if it wasn't at the hostel,cheap and yum breakfast and dinner options,spacious,clean bathrooms and rooms and fantastic rates.really well located too,10 min walk from train station,airport bus stops nearby,tram stop right out the front,supermarket across from it,Temple bar area a short walk and next door to Jameson distillery. Hadn't stayed in hostel for a while and no hotels available that night as gay pride was on. Very happy with place. Very good bar area, breakfast area, etc. rooms clean as were showers toilets etc. purpose built hostel. Have no problem recommending this place. Easy to get to from Heston station (walk 15 mins) or get Luas tram. 10 mins from templebar. Great hostel, well-located, helpful staff 24hrs, everything worked. Actually the thing I liked the best is that under every bottom bunk are two cage-drawers, half a bed wide and a whole bed long, that slide out and open like a treasure chest for all your stuff to go in. No awkward locker, no other people's stuff all over the place. Booked single room. Great value. Smithfield is a good area, right on the Luas, with a couple of good cafes & an independent cinema right opposite the hostel. Also only 5 minute walk from Heuston Station. Rooms very clean & good facilities downstairs. Mostly young people but I don't feel awkward as an older traveller. Our room and the facilities were fabulous, probably the nicest hostel we've stayed in. Clean, friendly, located pretty centrally depending what ur after. The staff couldn't have been more helpful when we had to leave at 5am either- organising a taxi for us and even offering a courtesy knock on the door. Loved it. You could lock your bags, toilet was in a room, the room was clean, there were plenty of plugs, the staff was very friendly and helpful, will defo stay here again! I was there for my daughter's Wedding and the good thing also was she could always come for a visit, the location is perfect!. This place has everything ! Great accommodation & design. Space between above bunk bed + under the bed quality locker [bring your lock]. A fantastic bar area and great food. The staff is superb and helpful. About 15 min from city center. Best Hostel I have ever seen !. Decor is quirky, great for young people or first time travelers. Atmosphere is friendly & relaxed. Rooms are spotless, great value. Bar food is good & relatively cheap. My Daughter 16 & Niece 19, really enjoyed their first Hostel experience. 60, 47 and 22 were the ages of our family members who stayed here... and we all enjoyed the atmosphere. The staff and layout are inviting and easy going. This was just as comfortable as places we stayed that were nearly 4 times the price. The place looks amazing, great price, and location. Also entertainment was downstairs and the staff always helped me find what I was looking for. also a really great mixture of people, and loads of fun and I am 43 but still had fun. It was just a minute from Luas stop in Smithfield. It doesn't feel like a hostel at all more like a hotel. It has a bar area & a cafe. Staff are so friendly & helpful. Really nice atmosphere will defo b coming back. I stayed here for 2 nights it was beyond my expectation for the money spent recommend this to all who are on budget travell to Dublin . In one word excellent. Nice place to make friends great bed and shower top class.... This was my second visit to Dublin in last 4 months and both the times i did stay at Generator Hostel Great as allways made a few good friends and all went well great Location close to LUAS i will stay again for sure . I was surprised about the whole bulding -modern,clean,very nice room with privite bathroom for great value.Service friendly and helpful.Only 15.min walk to Centre.Will deffenitely recommend to my friends. Quality of Bunk beds with personal night light, two power outlets and a privacy screen. Spring mattresses in all beds. Bathrooms tidy and spacious. Very kind and helpful reception staff. Each bed has its own power source which is good for charging cell phone and camera. The staff was great, very helpfull. The localization, is close to most of the attractions of Dublin. - The bar, the irish music, the decoration... The ambiance - the staff was really nice - the food at the bar near the reception was GREAT - The room was really nice, well decorated. Artistic interior design mixes modern decor with existing factory architecture. Onsite bar with fantastic craft beers as well as the usual suspects. A very pleasent pleace, clean, the bed very comfortable, great price and location is good. It was a good experince, pity we only stayed one night :(. The design is good, the light and electrical stuff in the bed space and the individual storage box under the bed with facility for pad lock. Thought value of lockers and bunks, with electrical outlets, lights, privacy panels, was tops. Staff...especially sigita...was very helpful. The good environment in the main hall, the coffeshop and people who stay in the hostel usually is young people who are really friendly. All was fine, is more or less near the city center, but you have very near the bus stop to go tu de city center and to the airport. The friendly staff, the warm atmosphere and the closeness to transport ans the distillery. A great place. Book early on weekends. Really nice bar and lounge area. Dorm rooms were spacious, bunk beds were comfortable had individual lamps, bathrooms were clean. Very good value for the price and really good location. Closed to LUAS, Hop on & Hop off bus. Positive, friendly atmospere. The overall experience of staying at the Generator Hostel is truly amazing if you compare it to another other hostel in Dublin. I really liked the awesome bar in the hostel its just a great atmosphere. Also the stuff is really helpfully and nice. It's a hostel but with all the facilities and comfort it is like a hotel. Clean, good beds, nice area for relaxing. good location, clean and comfort! even it has good loction. Personally, strongly recommend to every backpackers!:). It was very good. Staff very helpful. The bathroom could be better having a rug. Overall it was value for money. The hostel is new has modern design. You can listen to live music in the hall. Every bed has a light and charge. There was a soap dispenser in the shower but wen I went to shower I realised it was empty bit disappointed as we were walking around all day and wanted to freshen up. At that stage it was too late to go down to reception to buy body wash. On the night of Friday, May 24, On Friday, May 24, I very much enjoyed the festive atmosphere until I tried getting to sleep in Room 109. There the music was very audible until the around 3 AM. It was somewhat inconvenient as I was worried about getting up early to catch the ferry. Nothing. Breakfast room not sign posted well. Full irish breakfast was offered but not clear. Small thing really but would stay there again. It's a hostel, with lots of young people sharing rooms, so it can be a little bit noisy. A bit cold in a daytime, in a room for 4 people there were 2 little chairs only. The shower needed an exterior floor mat. When you are the 6th person to use the shower there is water everywhere ... Being woken up at 5am by what sounded like a rugby team in the next room singing Happy Birthday! We didn't mind though because we had to be up for 5.30am anyway. Issues like this are part & parcel of the Hostel experience. Air conditioning or having the windows able to be opened better would have made the stay more comfortable. The room was stuffy. Some of my roomates were loud , would come in at 4 am and turn the lights on even though I said I had to leav esarly the next day. I shared a room with 8 people mixed dorm so girls and guys which would have been cool if I was ready for it. also top bunk was tough. honest though this my my fault not the staff i should have been ready sooner and planned a single room. Our room was fab but was right beside double doors at the start of corridor there was a bit of noise with ppl coming and going. But was manageable. None best in Dublin... I would like to reguest the management to have basic Kitchen facilites for travellers. A Microwave will make life very easy . N/a. Awkward timings for public kitchen. Expensive laundry service Breakfast quite basic. Rooms get quite warm as dorms have no ventilation except a single window which only tilt opens. When I checked in my bed wasn't clean. - The breakfast was not that good - it was a little bit cold in the room. I couldn't find the female showers and female bathroom besides the ones in the basement which were quite a distance from my room but other than that the hostel was really good. our room was by the corridor door and at night every time someone came through the corridor door it sounded like they were trying to get into our room. a little noisy but to be expected. Nothing to say. Noise travels well down the halls and drunken punters return to their rooms at all hours in typical hostel fashion. Breakfast buffet must be pre-purchased. I' ve got quite squeaky bed, but is seemed to be the only disadvantage of this place. That the kitchen only had a hob and only open for a few hours in afternoon. The check out time is early, one could be locked out if they went to the toilet late, one gentle man from my went to shower and on his return door key wouldn't work I let him in. Perhaps you could instruct residents that the door key wont work after check out time. Floors dirty in room in daytime could either be swept or? Did not like that I had to be moved after one night because of a booking problem that was not mine. Nothing. Could be more seating in the lobby. Many people were left standing. Maybe the prizes. You have tu pay for leave your bag 4 euros. I left it too late for Friday night & it was all booked out. Breakfast was a very little thing. I expected more from the breakfast. If you stay there you'd better have breakfast somewhere else. Not that much choice, only jam. But the bread is nice. The showers and toilets on different floors. For example if you live on 3 floor you need go down stairs to take a shower. everything was great. at one point a man thought he could bother me, the bar staff told him nicely to stop, and he did stop. door keys - had to get mine programmed three times at night and once in the morning of rone night stay.
