For Hong Kong standards a very large room. The staff is very very nice and do their best to facilitate all request. They gave me my room at 10 am and let me check-out late also. Breakfast is basic like most design hotels as there is no restaurant on premises. But with so much fabulous food literally out the doorstep it is a complete non-issue. My room had a incredible view which was beautiful to see in the morning when I pressed the roll up blinds from my bed to have the surrounding city reveal.
all reviews » The room was quiet, spacious enough, and everything that we needed worked well: free wi-fi, refrigerator, water boiler, hair-dryer, shower room. Nice mountain view from the 23rd floor. The not too soft mattresses suited our taste. Wash basins in the room rather than in the bathroom felt funny at first but actually enabled one of us to do make- up or shave when the other one was taking a shower. Housekeeping well taken care of. Good coffee at breakfast. Central location. I have just spent a week at the V Wanchai2. while my husband was on business, I was left to do my own thing, I found this hotel perfect for me to step outside and explore, the tram was just around the corner, the metro just across the road, all I needed to do was step outside the door to experience HK. The staff were wonderful always a smile, the room was large and clean. Would I go back? Most certainly. I really liked the design of the public areas and the rooms and attention to detail. The room I stayed in (upgraded to a suite - thankyou) was very much to my taste and suited all my needs. The suite was totally adequate for my needs. Quite near to nearest Wanchai MTR station (a block away, 200+m), which was very useful since we were using the MTR a lot. Place around the hotel was safe to walk, we returned to hotel about 11pm one night and street near the hotel still had a lot of ppl walking nearby. Convenient store - 7eleven, Subway sandwich shop nearby. I spent 2 nights there. From 5 to 8pm, you can have some free drinks on the 3rd floor. Mini bar in your room is also free. Rooms are very clean and well furnished. The location is great, just few minutes from Wan Chai subway station. Many bars and restaurants around (try the bar ''les amis''). The hotel was very centrally located, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and we were the beneficiaries of an upgrade to a suite, which was very roomy and well appointed. The breakfast was good and all that was needed. Finding food in Honk Kong is not an issue. The hotel suite was large and well appointed...trendy even. Bed comfortable and complimentary mini bar ( I suppose to make up for the lack of breakfast).. Staff efficient but not friendly. It was about a 15 minute walk to Wan Chai ferry wharf. It was a great stay from start to finish, excellent staff, rooms are as functional as you could wish (stayed 10 nights so the washing machine came in handy) Suite is recommended if travelling with a child as you will have plenty of space. The quality of the bakery products was rather low and there was too little fruit available. During two nights out of seven there was a smell of cigarette smoke floating into our non-smoking room. The area around the hotel felt confusing at first but got used to it. The coffee in the morning was always cold. Nothing. Taxis could not find the place but having a hotel card with you solved this. The contract said breakfast was included...it wasn't and nothing is cheap in Hong Kong, especially the poor food standard. There is no breakfast available in the hotel despite what it says on the contract. Cost of complimentary minibar didn't make up for the lack of breakfast. - The automatic curtain block the tv when closing?. Extremely limited breakfast spread, and staff at breakfast was not efficient. Breakfast was a little simple: toast and croissant with jam/butter, but the coffee was very good. No eggs, meat or cheese. Only no breakfast if somebody wants... Gentleman at ground level at desk very snippy, rude, and not helpful. The price ($288/night) was a bit more than I think it should be (closer to $220). But the location is great so I understand. no room service no pool. No minibar, so be aware to buy if you need snacks or drinks / check in really small and long waiting if several people arrive at the same time / Check in took me nearly 30 min. need to improve breakfast menu. Breakfast policy: although on your booking is said that breakfast is included in reality what is included is an individual voucher worth 17HK$ to be used in a nearby coffee shop. With that voucher is was virtually impossible to get anything different from a small coffee and a muffin (not what I call breakfast, specially for 5 days) ...otherwise coffee shop staff would get actually angry at you! It would be better not to say "breakfast included". We felt deceived!. Lifts are very slow, and often need to share with the cleaning staffs. No gym no swimming pool is the reason why I can't stay for over 3 weeks. I will get unhealthy. Breakfast is only served at an open air terrace. So if it´s raining you either get wet or you miss breakfast. Small breakfast buffet, hardly any variety, no gym at the hotel. The water pressure is not enough for the high floor. There isn't any cargo/ service lift which cause inconvenience for hotel guests even the staff generally are very considered but the feeling is very annoying. Staff quality is not level - few are very professional however majority sound cold and not welcoming. Noisy at night. The designer did not really put in the right thoughts when designing the shades. If you have the shades down, you cannot watch TV, and having it up, the building opposite can easily see everything that is going on in the room at night. What a bummer. Nothing. Can be quite difficult to find as Thomson Road is split up, with a sports ground in between. No hotel amenities. Location difficult to find for a new person travelling to HK. Similar problem with other hotels.Providing clear instructions to travellers would be helpful. The breakfast was in a box. Would of preferred sit down in the restaurant. Needed to ask an extra bed upon arrival despite booking for three, breakfast a little haphazard if raining due to little covered meals area - minor issues considering the accommodation cost. The breakfast could have been better. nothing. The A/C is cold and become so hot after couple of hours cannot let u sleep. A little hidden and taxi drivers kept getting confused. The breakfast were limited to bread and cereals. if you were to cater to international clients, i'd suggest more options. No airport shuttle service. Windows are not sound proof!. Rooms weren't cleaned properly in some day. No room service, no in-house restaurant.
