Strogili has exceeded my expectations. I can not emphasize only one thing. The view from the terrace is spectacular and immense, the hospitality and friendliness of Andreas (the hotel manager) and all staff (Katrau, ...), cleaning is 10 points, breakfasts on the terrace, tranquility and relaxation .... Strogili has an excellent location, just 5/10 minutes from the center of Oia. After visiting the island I can say we chose the most beautiful town and we hit full in the choice of Hotel. Of cours.
all reviews » The view is probably the best view from any hotel I have ever stayed in. More than that, it's one of the best views of the Caldera that we found on the whole island. Andreas and the rest of the staff were extremely pleasant, friendly, and helpful, while the room itself was exactly as advertised, quite spacious, and clean. Breakfast was served when you wanted it out on the deck. A very short walk away is a small store with local products, and next to that the shared pool - again with tremendous . This hotel is amazing - it is 5 min out of the city, which is really a big plus because walking with suitcases in the narrow streets in the center of Oia is not at all fun! Strogili has a perfect acess from the road to Thira, very convenient! Plus, it is really quiet and relaxing, feels like you´re on the world´s edge! Another great point - it is just a short walk away from a sunset viewing point which few people know about - so you´ll have a perfect sunset view all for yourself!. - excellent service thanks to Andreas who is super friendly and gives you the advices you need. you are treated as a king. - very good location, at the entrance of Oia and quiet. - swimming pool is excellent and the location is so good you can not leave it :-) with views on the caldera from your chair. - all facilities are clean, breakfast served on your terras or an other one directly on the edge of the caldera with super views. - directly on the bus stop. The hotel offered transport at a cheaper-than-taxi rate from the airport, it's worth the money since we are three people travelling together. The owner and the staff are very helpful. The room has a private balcony with an uninterrupted view of the sea and the volcano; 15 minutes walk to the tip of the Oia to see the sunset. Oia is a better place to stay for relaxation compared to Fira. Andreas made us feel at home. The service was outstanding from the breakfast brought to our villa each morning, arranging rental car and having it delivered within 10 minutes to recommendations of what to do, pick-up and delivery transportation, etc. We were extremely pleased with our room, the view overlooking the sea and the quaint atmosphere. Spacious accommodation, could comfortably accommodate 4 people. Beautiful cliff dwelling/cave house, with kitchenette and solid furniture. Fresh paint, nice swimming pool, excellent breakfast brought to your private terrace. Overall, it was a great experience, highly recommended. Very nice approach from the staff, amazing scenery, beautiful and clean traditional cave houses...great destination for young couples and all other ages...as well as those who love to take photos, as there are thousands of oportunities on every step :-). The view is very good. 5 mins walk to the centre of Oia. Staff was very nice. Gave us two bottles of local wine. Quick location. They have a swimming pool about 1 min walk from the hotel. The bus stop is located just next to the hotel. The location is to die for !! And Andreas the hotel manager is extremely nice and informative .. The view from the hotel is amazing, however I describe the view, that will not be enough. The staff was very helpful, you feel that you are inside a family. This is a great hotel. The service, facilities, location and the views are unbeatable. We really enjoyed our stay and would come back as soon as we can. The staff was really friendly and the daily breakfast in our private balcony was simple, but with good quality products and very pleasant view. The pool is located in an annex really close to the rooms, and is really enjoyable, with a wide view of the caldera. The hotel is located 5 min walk from the historic center and the restaurants of Oia, so we could go for dinner every night by foot. Great view. Everything is so lovely. But i think the price is very high. Really the only negative, and this is being very nit picky, would be that the shower didn't have hot water for long. This is coming from someone that enjoys long showers. - bathroom can be better, but that is everywhere in greece... so not really negative. N/A. All was good except there was a guest who kept hawking and spitting loudly in the pool on thankfully just one occasion. Maybe need a sign to suggest this is not allowed. Otherwise, the pool was great, with tremendous views. Breakfast should include hot food. double bed a bit small for two. still--it was very comfortable. Nothing. Nothing. Loved Everything. A tip. Given that the facilities include kitchens, it would be good to provide some basics for guests, such as oil, salt and pepper etc. Stairs, a lot of Stairs. None, basically. Transfer prices from/to airport and port, too expensive. none. Electricity and water were out most of our stay and the hotel did not have a generator while some other hotel did have it. no. Our room was small (we have booked the superior studio), and the bathroom was tiny. The shower had plastic curtain which let the floor soaked frequently. The swimming pool is not work, may be the season ended. This is a traditional hotel but the ceilings are very low - 1.90 may be (not for tall people)/ And this is Oya and you need ride every day with two changes by bus to the beach. The breakfast is poor.
