Tony and his family were exceptionally kind and helpful. We stayed there the night before and the night after our cruise which left from Athens. Great place to stay if you have a little one. We were traveling with our 13 month old daughter. The pack'n'play they provided was nice and large, unlike our experience at a hotel in Paris where it was so small she couldn't lay down flat. This pack'n'play was much longer than the typical one in the us. I think it was almost as long as a crib. Our daught.
all reviews » - Location- we walked everywhere, including Acropolis, Plaka district, Flea markets, etc. Everything is walking distance and if needed, metro is nearby. - Owner, Tony, was very welcoming, cheerful, and took a lot of pride in his hotel. You can tell he put a lot of detail into it. - In a neighborhood, so you get the "non-touristy" feel.. even though all the touristy stuff is within walking distance. - Very accessible from the airport. From the airport, take the bus #95 (around 5E/person) t. Excellent email communication from Tony since initial booking. Chose this place for its location, family friendly facilities and value for money. Large 2 br w/ small kitchenette and dining area all newly furbished and spotlessly clean each day (stayed 4 nites). Location was in one word GREAT..walking distance to Parthenon at Acropolis, quiet safe neighborhood even with our small kids at 9pm never felt unsafe...groceries, small mom and pop shops and restaurants all around the corner. It is a nei. The room we had was very spacious compared to typical European hotels. We traveled as 2 adults and 2 teenage kids and our room was essentially a 1 bedroom Suite with a Kitchen (microwave, refrigerator, plates/utensils) which would compare well with a room at an American Suite hotel. Our room was clean and the furnishings were new/modern. The Bathroom and Shower were also huge compared to other hotels on our trip. The cost was also very reasonable as I did a pretty extensive search of several ho. Tony made so welcome, gave us good advice about how to find our way around via the Metro, places to eat which were within a few minutes walking distance and excellent. Our room was in the new section and was superb. We left at 5am and Tony had arranged for a taxi to collect us to take us to the ferry wharf and we were surprised and delighted that he was there to say goodbye to us. Hotel Tony is actually a couple of small hotels near the base of the Acropolis, within walking distance of the entrance to the Acropolis, and the New Parthenon Museum. It is also less than 3 km, a pleasant walk, from the Agora. Our room was recently renovated, and spotless. Tony (the owner) and his son were very helpful, arranging for a taxi to pick us up at the cruise ship terminal, and deliver us to the airport. It was a short walk to a pedestrian-only street with several cafes and pastry sho. The proximity to the sights in Athens was ideal! The experience if staying among where locals live is awesome (as opposed to a big chain that gives a generic experience)! The family apartment comfortably accommodated our family of 6. I recommend packing lightly as it would be difficult to hike 6 overstuffed suitcases up several flights of stairs...or take an overnight bag upstairs and leave the rest in storage downstairs. The owner and his son were incredibly friendly and accommodating!. The hotel was beautiful, lots of marble. It was super clean, and the sheets/pillows smelled nice (and subtly). The shower was great - hot water, good pressure. Wonderful balcony where we had wine in the evening. Awesome neighborhood, close to the sights. The staff was AWESOME. The location is excellent as it is located in a nice neighborhood, a few blocks from the metro which saves costs Taxi, near plate to eat and walk and is 4 blocks from the Parthenon. The place inside is like Your own apartament, very clean and decorated with such good taste. In general Athens is a great megapolis with beautyfull sights and places to visit, and People are so turist oriented and helpfull. We like our stay at Tony's Hotel, he arrange transportation from airport to hotel. Nice studio room with modern design. We have kitcen to prepare simple meals. Restaurant and mini market are nearby. The Acropolis and museum just 10mins walking distance. We can leave our luggage at the lobby.free Wifi and city map. Well...nothing for minor complaint. I will recommend this hotel to my friends. So expectations were met. The neighborhood is safe and convenient, but there were late-night noises (motorcycle, someone shouting). We solved the problem by closing the sliding door and turning on the air conditioner. Nothing really. So sign of extractor fan in the bathroom, but it didn't really bother us if we left the door open after a shower. Room (triple) was almost below ground level with no views. It would be a little frustrate to get there late night, don't expect there's shining neo signage up on the building. Our taxi driver went several round but still can't find, my iPhone Google map finally help. The location, although within easy walking distance of the Acropolis and some lovely bars and streets (strongly recommend dracou for an easy walk!), was a bit hard to find. It does get easier with time and if you make sure you have the address with you, taxis should be able to find it!. Family room is third floor, no elevator. It was a nighmare to get the laguage up and down. Also it is not renovated as the rest of the hotel. Clean room but not 100% clean. No tv, which was not terrible, but yet... Fridge was weak and not cooling enough. There was nothing we didn't like about Hotel Tony. The bed is more firm than we are accustomed to, but was perfectly acceptable. Please be advised that letsbookhotel.com show checkout time of 12:00 when in fact it is 11:30 so please amend your website. Nothing really. Nothing. Tony's is not in the absolute best neighborhood, but it is pretty convenient to the Acropolis and Plaka. The room was a bit small for 3 people. A bit hard to find. Not many dining options nearby. While the location is physically close to things, the not-well maintained side street can seem lonely at night if you were alone due to the grafitti; however much of Athens seems like that. At night, the street became noisy. That there wasn't an elevator. I'm tall and the main bed was a bit short. Would have been ok but there was a foot rail that prevented legs to dangle over the edge. Woke me a couple of times but not a show stopper, would and will stay there next time. There is no breakfast available, but this is not a problem because there are plenty of bakeries around with cheap very delicious local products. Not much. Too many stairs, lack of a lift. Could not access (free) wifi on my laptop which worked elsewhere. No shower curtains, but Tony said that they had just upgraded and the curtains were on the way. (Pretty petty complaint). No breakfast included but there are a few places close by. Our room was in the basement and therefore minimal natural light but there was an area to sit outside. our reservation booked in August was incorrectly booked by the hotel for only one night as opposed the three nights reserved. Instead of getting the 2 rooms for 3 nights, the first night we got the rooms we requested, but the last two nights we all (4) stayed in the same "family" room (2 single beds and 1 double bed). The hotel did not charge us for the 3rd night for their error. Staff's (especiallyTony's but Vassilis, his son's, as well) unfriendly and unprofessional behavior, the disagreeable smell in the reception lobby. The street was dark when returning to hotel at night. The immediate neighbourhood is looking very tired. No issues with the hotel though.
