Information about the area

Salderatzen is situated in the heart of the Wendland region. The countryside consists of charmingly restored villages surrounded by vast meadows, fields and woods. Salderatzen is a tiny village, with just 8 houses and 30 inhabitants.

This in an ideal area for relaxing, hiking, cycling and general sightseeing. There are 13 museums in the surrounding area, providing plenty of cultural fascination here near the banks of the River Elbe.

Travelling information

The nearest railway stations are in Uelzen (30 km), Dannenberg (20 km), Salzwedel (25 km), Schnega (15 km). A local bus (no. 1949) takes you from Uelzen station to the hotel, but this service only operates 3 times a day. Alternatively, the hotel is happy to provide a transfer service if necessary.

Guests coming by car from the Hamburg or Hanover direction should take the B493 towards Lüchow. Salderatzen isn’t necessarily marked on all maps, but it is 3 km from Waddeweitz on the right-hand side.

Coming from the east, travel towards Salzwedel and then on to Lüchow. Salderatzen is 12 km after Lüchow in the Uelzen direction.

From Berlin you can take the motorway towards Hamburg, and exit at Neustadt-Glewe, near Ludwigslust. Head for Dömnitz/Dannenberg, and then for Lüchow. 2 km before Lüchow turn off towards Uelzen on the B493. Salderatzen is 10 km further ahead on the left-hand side. Salderatzen is approximately a 1½ hour drive from Hamburg or Hanover, or 2½ to 3 hours from Berlin by car.
