Food was excellent, and I have never had a freshly cooked scrambled eggfor breakfast while I waited before, anywhere. Tremendous! It was nearenough Boppard to be copable, and the taxi service was on the ball. The Hotel is located on the edge of the Rhine and is less than 2 hours from Frankfurt Airport add to this the most beautiful part of the Rhine it is a perfect place to stay when arriving or leaving Germany.

The location directly on the Rhine River was wonderful. The hotel restaurant was excellent. Beautiful setting, friendly staff, lovely food (although the flies did put us off a bit!!!!). Childrens playground near eating terrace was a bonus - we could eat and our 4 year old could play !. The view of the River Rhine was beautiful! Also, the air-conditioning was great!. The close proximity of the hotel next to the Rhine. The restaurant was beautiful and the menu was varied and of excellent quality and presentation. The staff were very helpful. friendly, good play area for the kids, nice food. Friendly, but not always the most efficient staff. My request for a roomwas upgraded to an apartment with lr, kitchen, sleeping area, and alovely terrace right along the Rhine River. The restaurant was good, butthe menu remained the same for lunch and dinner the entire time westayed there--four days. Breakfast was very good.The position, directly on the Rhine, was perfect for watching the river traffic. Staff were friendly. Good breakfast. We had a two bedroom apptmt for a great price. Accommodation, meals and staff service was very good. Only stayed 1 night. View was great.No Lift and I was on the top floor! Ideally it could be rebuilt about10km north, within walking distance of the Boppard Weinfest, or to bemore accurate staggering distance from the Boppard Weinfest!. It is in a valley so trains and road run close by - but if you don't like valleys don't go to them???. I was disappointed at it being quite far from the centre of St. Goar. The hotel lies well ourside the towno= of St. Goar, something I did notrealize when I made the reservation. Also, the computer for internetlinkage was on a tiny shelf in the hall--no room for a piece of paper towrite on. The computer had to be switched on by one of the staff eachtime one wanted to use it, and we had to open a T-Mobile account for e-mail access. Very behind the times.We were there on a quiet night in the restaurant and would have preferred not to sit right next to the only other people in the restaurant at that time. From the website we did not know it is directly on the road and thetrain track. Windows are well sealed. The locality of the hotel adjacent to main rail traffic unfortunately does detract a little from the otherwise overall high standards. We were disappointed that we could not have an evening meal after driving all day and arriving at 20.00 because there was a private function and dinner for guests finished at 19.00. We could not even get a beer. We were not told about this until arrival. Because the hotel is about 2k out of town we had to get a taxi to and from a restaurant. The room bars were empty. 1 large room 1 small same price.
