Our room was on the 5th floor with a tiny balcony overlooking the Rhine, which was perfect for us to sit and watch the boats go by. The room was well equipped, very clean, with even a hospitality tray - rare outside the uk. There was also free WiFi which was a nice bonus. The staff were friendly, the breakfast was plentiful and in a pleasant room. One would not guess that the staff were still pumping water out of the cellar after the floods. all reviews » We dropped off our luggage at the side entrance and then parked the car in the free carpark just off the Rheinallee about a six minute walk back to the hotel. Our room on the 1st floor had a spacious balcony overlooking the Rhein. Clean comfortable room, very good breakfast and friendly staff. Enjoyed a good evening meal in the restaurant. My glass of german red wine was very very nice. Although there was some building work next door it did not spoil our visit in any way. We would stay there ag. Right on the river and bang in the centre. All front facing rooms have balconies. Having stayed at a number of the hotels on the front in Boppard this was very good value. Evening meal was also both good value and very tasty - the Rhine wine to die for. Rooms clean and had all you would need including a surprisingly wide selection of toiletries. STOP looking for hotels in Boppard. This is the one you want! And spend that little bit extra and get a river view balcony, definitely worth every cent. Everything was excellent. Gorgeous rooms, super soft mattress, friendly staff, views... Great buffet breakfast and reasonable restaurant. You must stay at this hotel. Described it as Beach but it is actually River. My double room with a balcony overlooking the Rhine was an ideal location and close to the town, railway station and the river ship services - all at a budget price. As a smaller hotel it had no large tour groups when I was there, so there was more personal attention. Together with my elderly mother and sisters stayed three nights at Hotel Lille-Royal. The staff were amazing. We had an early train to catch and the chef got up and opened the breakfast room an hour early just for us. nothing was too much trouble and the meal in their restaurant was great. location was superb and rail station only 5mins away. The room was large with a large toilet and with a balcony and brilliant view. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room which was good. The restaurant beside the river was very pretty and the food was excellent. We stayed at the Hotel for three days during the worst of the Rhine flooding in early June, 2013. We were impresssed by the management and staff, who carried on cheerfully to make our stay as comfortable as possible. My sister and I loved staying here. The hotel is excellent and the staff are friendly and helpful. It is in a great location and within walking distance to trains and attractions and the beautiful centre of Boppard. The location as it was located just in front of the rhein. Location and breajfast. The entranceway was not to my liking looked a big like a 21 year old's idea of a trendy black and white apartment. The corridors were also 'interesting' but once in the room it was fine as was the breakfast and dining room. Flat screen TV did not have any English channels. Not a big issue but room 403 needs the shower hose to be fixed. It works just fine, plenty of hot water and pressure but it sprays water everywhere, including in your face. If you like to sleep with the window open for air like I do. Expect to be disturbed by boats and trains all night. This is not a fault of the hotel at all, just something to think about. Shutting the window blocks all noise completely. Staff invisible - lobby empty but they came when bell rung. Parking on street with coupon meant we rushed out every morning to pay so we didn't get a ticket. In high season may have to park further from hotel than I would have liked. Only German language tv. No safe. Not the hotel's fault, but the ambience for having a meal or drink on the riverside area outside was a bit spoiled by the fact that building work was in hand in adjacent properties. Nothing. I didn't like the self service breakfast. We had to help ourselves to cups, plates, cutlery and coffee. For a Superior hotel this didn't seem right. Under the circumstances a difficult question to answer, but the staff were very helpful. Although an annoyance for those arriving by car, the free parking ticket supplied by the Tourist Office was a bonus. Slight attitude from staff at check-in but got better. Not handicap friendly, must be able to do a level of stairs to reach lobby with luggage but after that a small elevator. Staff not so friendly and we're not allowed into the breakfast area or the lobby before the 8AM start time. This was a problem for us as we had to get to the train station early and could not have a full breakfast. Nothing to dislike, the building next door was undergoing a rebuild so there was some noise but not bad and only during working hours. balcony adjoining next doors building works, but not hotel's fault. No Parking...Luckily we could park for free in the p2 lot at the church Construction at the hotel next door (connected to our balcony), though they didn't start work very early in the morning. Noise at night- balcony rooms had train noise, rooms in the back had bell chimes every 1/2 hr. Not easy to park near hotel. Not the quietest of locations. Noise from goods trains all night. No parking facility, had to park on street and pay for ticket. Pillows thin and even when doubled over twice still not adequate. Building work next door. Church clock strikes every 15 mins throughout night. Suggest front rooms quieter. It is not easy to find a car park near the hotel. No free parking. Nothing really except bathroom is quite small. Goods trains all night,. Very slow elevator. bed too hard. always a little hard get a close parking space to any hotel in Boppard, but you can if your fast enough!!!!. During high season, parking might be a problem. Nothing. decoration. Some of the staff were fine but some not helpful. Bar closes early. Nothing. This hotel is becoming quite tired its dark but in typical old traditional German style.Staff were helpful parking could be better .There are several hotels undergoing refurbishment nearby all in all a pleasant overnight stop . Unfortunately the thing that we will not forget about this hotel is the bad attitude of the front desk manager at the whole time of our staying...not friendly at all. Also the rooms are not for a romantic vacation. The extra bed we asked for wasn't done already and it was too expensive. There were works nearby so the noise the following morning was horrible. Surly bored East European staff ( who nevertheless worked hard) . Manager similarly disinterested.
