Located on a quiet street right in the middle of things. Next door to a shop and numerous restaurants - also to a Shell petrol station (for Sunday and late-night shopping). Other hotels should learn from their breakfast - it is entirely typical except for a few touches like boiled eggs with salmon and 2-3 types of cheese and salami more than strictly necessary, and this is enough to make the breakfast feel special at minimum cost. Actually the hotel is within walking distance (one U-bahn stop) to the center of West Berlin, but it is also quiet and free of the big city noise. Contrary to some old comments Internet has been improved and has worked fine. Breakfasts are very good. The staff is friendly and helpful. Supermarket next door, open until 10 pm allows to buy drinks or sweets. Restaurants in close proximity, . Excellent breakfast comprising a superb selection of foods beautifully presented. A quiet, comfortable and spotlessly clean room to feel at home in. Many retaurants including first rate Indian, Italian and specialist Norwegian fish within fairly easy walking distance. Short walk to Nollendorf Platz for S-bahn, U-bahn and bus access to almost anywhere in Berlin. Magic local shopping in a quietly upmarket district. It's a very nice hotel. The Russian-speaking sfaff is very friendly and helpful. Our room was small but cosy and very clean. The bed was big and very comfortable and bed linen was changed every day. Though the internal decoration was simple, the double room I got was big with a double bed, an single bed, 2 washrooms and a small table. It was very clean. The bed was comfortable. Mine was slower than my dial-up in 1990s, it was "your Gmail inbox failed to load because of insufficient Internet speed" - painfully slow.. So obviously they have routers with very limited range and Internet speed depends on the room you get. Single rooms are small. What's not to like? Accept that when word gets around it might be difficult for me to get a space next time I need a booking. Cigarette smoke smell in the room, but hotel did not make any problems with moving us to another room with no additional charges. Extremely small parking spaces in the underground parking. Can't think of any. They have a very rich breakfast but they are a little bit fast about cleaning the tables. As I was gettin a tea for myself, they had "finished" my breakfast. :) Of course this is only a "slight" dislike for me. The heating was a bit weak. The room I got was quiet the whole night, but I was just a bit unlucky that on the day I was there (a Wednesday morning), a delivery truck came before 6am and worked for around 1 hour. Tea and coffee-making facilities would have been useful. cheap furniture. The room was too small for two people and there was no possibility to sit comfortably. Everything was really fine. I almost flooded the bathroom floor as the shower screen is too small. My only complaint is that, although hotels are going green these days, and I have no problem re-using bath towels.....I Do believe that glasses in the room should be replaced on a daily basis if the staff sees that they have been used. I was never given a replacement glass in my 8 day stay!. Got a room that faced the street. Lots of noise throughout the night. No soundproof windows. Ask for a room away from the street if you're a light sleeper. The pillows are too thin and uncomfortable. Nothing, all perfect. Internet was not good. None. No air con during a heat wave ..... When arriving took 10 minutes for staff to open the door. Beds not the most comfortable. the furniture is old.they need to do up the rooms as per modern times. Pillows are awful! :) Though it didn't spoil our stay in the hotel. Some problem with Internet connection and tv programme in German only. I asked for paid for room with double bed . But I got two single beds put together???. although the signal was good, connecting to internet sometimes was a problem. Ok to cost.
