The apartment is in a beautiful old historic building in Vieux Lyon on the rue juviere. It's on the 4 th floor up a winding stone staircase. But there is a lift ! We were met by Vincennes who showed us around td us about the buildings to see in the area and where to eat avoiding the touristy places. The recommendations were excellent. The apartment is well kitted out and it's even fit a small dishwasher and washing machine. It's nice to buy good food locally and have breakfast and lunch in t.
all reviews » This was a very comfortable apartment in the old town of Lyon. Recently converted the facilities are very modern within an old, traditional Lyonnaise house. Very well located for any number of local restaurants (tip; avoid the tourist traps of Rue St Jean and stick to those on Rue du Bouef). Liked the warm welcome from Jean Luc and his excellent advice regarding local restaurants. The history of the building is very interesting but the main advantage of this property is its location which is right in the heart of the old town. The location is perfect in Vieux Lyon. The owner was very helpful and left many resources to assist in discovering the city. The little kitchen was perfect for quick snack/coffee inbetween sight seeing. Smack in the middle of old town apartment was well stocked with coffee,tea and basic products.Owner was pleasant to deal with and no pressure to leave before 12.Great price for location. Location. Right in the middle of Vieux Lyon. Quirky renaissance building yet modern design. Duplex perfect for those who like minimalist, loft style living. Only a minor gripe about need for some towel hooks in loo and kitchen area. Also bit noisy when residents leave for work and school in morning but pleasures outweigh this. The Duplex du Change apartment had, by virtue of its innovative design, low ceilings in places. Not a problem for those under six feet talk but a challenge for the taller resident!. These are apartments created from a medieval building and so have several quirky levels which might not suit a person with mobility issues. Very hard time meeting our contact who spoke no English, apartment is in an old Basilica so cold and no direct light but quiet. Couldn't get the TV to work properly.No on site parking so had to go to parking station. Would have liked wxtra bed pillows. lugging suitcases up the staircase.
