The hotel does not look much from the outside but is very modern and beautiful on the inside. The rooms are large by European standards and well set up incl. tea/coffee making and fridge. Bus stop over the road. walk to the old town (5 Min.) Walk to the city centre (15 Min.) A great Hotel from which to enjoy Lyon. An historic boutique hotel in the old part of Lyon very near restaurants and cafes. Rooms were small but comfortable. The afternoon/evening receptionist is very fluent in English and is excellent. Couldn't ask for a more helpful person.
all reviews » The staff was very professional and nice. Hotel interior has been recently redecorated and shows very well. Free internet and complimentary breakfast were big positives. Parking available for fee, but reasonable and very secure. The hotel is very nice, comfortable rooms, clean etc. Location is perfect in the old town and near the tourist sites. Our bathroom was with spa bath. Breakfast was also very good and staff was friendly. All was great. Picked the hotel for the name but would come back for beautiful location, nice room and tasty breakfast. Sadly other places at same price seem lacking after le Phenix. Location was excellent being close to the old city and the wonderful Musee de Beaux Arts. The staff were delightful and most helpful. Parking on site was a most welcome benefit. Location,easy access to Vieux Lyon and the bridges to other areas.The room was spacious and all members of staff were helpful and friendly. Hotel entry door glass had been damaged and presented poor initial image - it needs to be fixed ASAP. Nothing. We had requested a room with a view of the river but the top floor room had very small floor level windows. The bedroom, with included safe and mini-bar fridge was appreciated but it was difficult to access the bath and shower ,because or their position. Internet did not work in our room - we had to go out by the elevator to make a connection; leaking roof from solarium in lobby. The internet wi-fi was terrible. it kept cutting out an we had to log on constantly. getting to the hotel was a challenge due to all the downtown construction of the roadways. No place to stop to unload luggage or to check with hotel where to park. Garage must be reserved ahead of time and a bit of a walk if carrying luggage. the room i booked was too small for a 5 day visit. but were changed to another larger room. Lack of boiling water at breakfast. Water urn always set at tepid temperature. The first room we were given was small and and the air on was broken. They had put an air con unit in but this was really noisy. We asked to move rooms which they did without any problem. The new room was lovely. Very happy with everything. slight maintenance issues. Parking is difficult and expensive GSM poor signal in the room. none. the air condition wasnt working and it was varry hot. we took 2 rooms thay changed one room but not the second one. we didnt get any compensation !! managnemnt is poor !!!. beds were like from a children's room, heating was too low, oldfashioned furniture. i stayed in single room, it was too small , it was like hobbit house, not a real person can stay in it. Being awoken at 5am by some drunk man banging on our door for cigarettes. Frightening for my wife. Better swifter response required. - The room was to small. - it's close to the city, but the street is not very safety.
