The location right near the main station is ideal, there is also a large shopping centre nearby. Room was clean and comfortable. We did request another room as the first room smelt of cigarettes (this is a non smoking hotel) which staff happily complied with. Rooms have windows that open onto a type of balcony, you can see that people smoke by the number of butts. It was good to have an option of air conditioning or opening a window. all reviews » Best part is the location, just 3 min walk to Lyon Part-dieu train station and walking distance near the shopping mall (with Carrefour, Pizza, Quick fast food etc.) Room was clean and staff were welcoming and friendly. Value for $ cos it also includes simple standard breakfast enough to start the day! Love the convenience to places especially after out for a whole day. We left the luggage for storage and well kept in secured locked room. I stayed in this hotel with the purpose of getting the train to the airport very early in the next morning. For such a purpose, this hotel is very well located. It is also on the side of the main shopping center in Lyon, and has a metro station in front of it. The accommodation, although simple, is very reasonable. The value for money is favorable, in my opinion. The staff were very friendly and helpful The rooms were clean and comfortable and is was a bonus that they were air-conditioned as we stayed when the temperatures were very high. We found the location of the hotel fantastic for accessing shopping and the old town. We would definitely stay again. This hotel has a superb location which is right next to the Lyon Part Dieu train station and across from Lafayette shopping centre where you will find a metro to connect you to all the major tourist attractions. Room is spacious, I booked a room with 2 twin beds, they gave me a room with 3 beds, there is a small table and 2 chairs, so quite comfortable though room is not big. There is window that can open to allow fresh air to come in. This was simply the best 3star hotel we have stayed in. The room I had was on the second floor with a balcony that looks into the public square in front of Lyon Part Dieu train station. Sometimes it can be noisy but it is possible to buffer the noise by closing the double windows. shower has no curtain. Absolutely nothing. The room was really small and the beds seemed slightly smaller than normal single beds but we got used to this after first night. Nothing on bathroom wall on which to hook the shower & no shower screen/curtain on bath so water all over the floor although we tried to be careful. Apparently all the twin-bedded rooms are like this - perhaps they will modernise these bathrooms eventually as they have for the double bedrooms. The shower head could not be placed on the wall. During a shower you needed to hold this. Room a little on the small side but not by European standards. Hose style hair dryer could be updated. Bed was too soft. Room was tiny. We were unable ti get wifi access on the 6th floor, however were able to use the computer in reception. Only thing that did not go tp plan was that the free wi-fi was either unobtainable or extremely slow in the bedrooms. Hallways a little dingy, lounge area a bit tired. The staff were exceedingly rude and unhelpful. Any request, for example to recommend sites/good restaurants, were greeted with an eye roll and reluctant spiel that regurgitated information already on the map that we could have obviously found for ourselves. We sought a local's opinion. Your map does not make it clear enough which exit Saône or Alpes one should take when coming out of the railway station. Street names are not visible at night. Some minor appearance problems in the shared spaces where carpet and tiles are worn. Free Wi Fi system is complicated and did not work so well in the room. The hotel feels so old, with cheap carpets, and old elevators, room is tiny and feels like a one hour motel. You need to pour in some investment to make it a lot comfortable and modern. WI/FI was too weak to reach my room. Was nice and strong in the reception area and there are plenty of chairs for sitting and the occasional power point. air-conditioner didn't work. There seemed to be no monitoring of people taking their bags out from the bagagerie. Air condition is not warm, room is small. Wifi sucks. Felt a bit dated but can't complain too much. Room a little too small. Tourist tax.Everything closed by 11pm. I did not know how to work the shower!. Wifi was quite slow in my room at night, when I needed it. During breakfast, in the Lounge, it was fine. Good wifi is as necessary as hot water, heating/air conditioning or proper lightning. Net was weak. a little pricey perhaps. no safe in the rooms.
