  A wonderful old farm of very large proportions with a very hardworking owner who manages five bedrooms as well as his 225 ha organic farm. He serves breakfast at eight and can be seen busy on his tractor until the sun goes down. He has a pleasant manner and a good sense of humour. A great place to stay, particularly to visit fontainbleu (which is closed on Tuesd - Beautiful country house tastefully decorated in an impressive natural setting. Very comfortable bedroom and common areas. There was a nice seating area next to the dining table making the place very welcoming. The house had a kitchen available for guests to use; I only made tea but I thought it was very handy and not very common to find in b&b. Delicious breakfast and home made confiture. I only spent one night but really wished I had more time. The hosts were very kind and helfpul.

  La Closerie des Trois Marottes was the surprise jewel of our trip to Paris! We wanted to stay in Melun while visiting Vaux le Vicomte and Chateau de Fontainbleau and were intrigued by the photos of the private gardens and unique rooms offered, as well as the very reasonable price, and decided to stay at a B&B instead of a big hotel. We were not expecting that our room would include a kitchen, spa bathroom (a shower that we did NOT want to get ou - This hotel is perfect! I effectively had my own beautifully decorated historic apartment with a huge comfortable bed in a bedroom looking over a beautiful quiet garden. The modern ensuite was spotless with a huge shower and excellent water pressure. The kitchen had a microwave and a kettle and lots of tea coffee and biscuits. Also lovely lounge, hall and toilet. All this for £90 would have been excellent value, but there was more. The proprietors are a very kind hospitable couple who bent over
